Hi all!
Well....this is a normal 1/35 plastic kit to build...
Just thought, that post it on this section, could be interesting because the techniques and other tips can be used on smaller scales. (I'm painting a Chevrolet at HO using the same way)
The kit is manufacturer by Thunder Model.
I'm planing to build a civilian version, painted with some several weathering. Once done will be part of my current diorama.

The quality is good, and all fits perfect. Is a nice kit ;)
The set contains some PE, so it give a really nice look as well.
The start....

Next step...the primer coat.
Thanks for posting photos of this kit. I almost bought one of these about a month ago and now that I've seen it I think I will. This tractor was built by CASE and its civilian color would have been orange. Thanks again.
Correct! The civilian version is orange.
I will post all the paintwork on that post as well, so hope it can help you ;)
Does the kit come with the civilian lettering?

On the painting and marking guide you have the both versions.

And the kit contains this amazing decal sheet lol....where you can find the two CASE logos, necessary for the civilian version.

Cool! Thanks again!
Hi Pollux:
very well done so far. keep the pics coming.

Polux,
Great job on the tractor.
Tom ;D
Of what I can tell this was a continuation of the 1940 J.I.Case model V civilian tractor. There were still a bunch of these running around when I got to downtown Idaho in the early 1970's.
Thanx

It is a nice model you are putting together, clean details, the finished product should be great. I have one comment and I am no farmer, so I have a 50/50 shot at this. I believe the drive wheels should be swapped, I think the lug pattern of the tires should lead with the V, yours trail. Again, I could be wrong, but the box illustration, plus the graphic view page shows different than what you have. If I am wrong I apologize for the intrusion.
I will be looking for the progress.

The tires are not glued yet!!!
I know it! was just to shot the photos :) :) :)
You are correct sir.....
The lugs of the tires as shown are reversed. The only time you would put the tires on like this would be when you had to put the tractor on a paved road to transport it a very long distance.. In this direction the lugs are not worn out on the pavement.
Otherwise they would be reversed for best traction in the soil.
Thanx

What a fine model! I wish the kit would be in H0 scale... :-\
According to my research the kit is for a J.I. Case VA, the successor of the Case V. The VA was a very common tractor, with a total of c. 150,000 units produced between 1942 and 1955.
For more information on the Case VA please see:
