Title: Lorrie's Red Light District by FOS
Post by: LongHornCaddy on September 22, 2017, 03:29:10 AM
My wife, Lorrie completed her Red Light District and I thought I'd share it here.  She chose her own colors for the build.  I think they look nice.  The RLD will be set into it's pemanent home on our layout over the weekend.  Thanks for looking!

Some great life in that scene!

I love the pic with the double doors asunder and the glimpse of the scantily clad girl dancing!  It really manages to give a great feeling of depth.  The parrot in the last pic looks a tad out of scale???!!! ;D

Great work - I will look out for photos of it added to the layout.

Cheers, Mark.

Mark, Janbouli, Curt, Mike C and Jeff--> Thank you!

Mike C-- Good to see you!!!  This diorama will go into Magnolia (under the Hooten Holler logging area).  It's all on me to finish up Houligans Alley to complete the town

Jeff-- the BURLESK backlighting is a kit from Microlumina (?)  by Bill Satore

What a spectacular job !! I have been working on a more R rated version ( had to bash a couple things to accomplish this) like changing the Burlesk to a Jazz Club  and this has inspired me to get back to it

Lorrie read all your replies and we both say "thank you for all the kind words!"

We've been busy for open house this Sunday and putting her RLD in place on the layout.

Thanks again!

Hi Long Horn:

Now that's a red light district. The signage alone is just miraculous. I very much enjoyed the photos and looking at all the great details. Lighting is also very well done. Tell Lorrie to keep up the good work. I'm very much impressed.

Lorrie quite evidently also has a sense of humor: check the guy going into the "Hot Shows" with his raincoat flying open!

Well, Chip, you started this. So, how about the guy under the Burlesk sign? He appears to be holding himself or has to go to the bathroom really bad.

Just saying.

Hope you had a great open house for the train show this past weekend and many of the guests saw the Red Light District build.  It will always attract lots of interest. Would have added it to the open house list if we still lived in McKinney and were still able to attend the North Texas Train Show and pick up the layout tour map at the door. Always enjoyed seeing over the 3 dozen railroads and clubs that owners opened their homes up for the yearly show.
