That sure is the understatement of the year Donato - no exceptions..... ;D ;D ;D
Bob gives crap to Jay and the O-scalers.
Bob disappeared for, like, 35 minutes so Donato stepped-up and led the rest of the clinic.
Robert's lovely rattle-can assustant, Mark, is going home with 32% fewer brain cells.
Art Fahie steps in to correct all the BS tips Robert unloaded on us.
At Slim's clinic we'll light 'em up ... literally.
Dang...no Tootsie Rolls. 😡
Thanks for the photos Dave.
Covering 'til Jaime gets here. 😁 All kidding aside, great clinic by Robert. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Next clinic!

Scenic masters in the making.
Great sampling of materials from Jim.
Not your daddy's lichen.
I took the Scenic Express clinic in Scranton and it was great. Came back with a ton of freebies and coupons for getting more. Jim
Almost forgot my kit!
I wasn't distributing grass....I was getting directions to Intercourse, PA....

Dave,
Thanks for your running commentary and photos to keep those of us who are absent "in the loop".
My pleasure...great gathering...great clinics. 👍🏻
I had a great day out rail fanning with Reading Bob. We photographed three trains on the Horse Shoe Curve - visited Raymo's secret rail fanning spot and watched a couple trains come through the tunnel before Horse Shoe Curve - someone will have to help me with the name of the tunnel - I had trouble saying the name let alone spelling it. We ended the day with a very good Italian dinner with Dr. Jeff who flew all the way out here - with connections in Detroit - on a POP Tart for breakfast. Now that's dedication. So far a good EXPO - tomorrow we get to spend some money. I need to to get my rest - Raymo's clinic is a 8 AM tomorrow.
Well, THIS doesn't bode well!

The Gallitzin Tunnel. :D We saw two trains come out of the tunnnel. John failed to mention we had to wait a bit at the curve but when we saw the three trains we saw them all at the same time. :D
Dannys clinic was great this morning. Time to go check out the contest room.
Yeah, Dan's was excellent...pix coming...
Got a few moments...
Dan, our vehicle master...
Excellenr presentation by Rick and Maureen Hunter of Hunterline Stains.
Hey Dave
Thanks for all the pictures!
Your doing an excellent job for all of us who couldn't make the show!!
Jerry
A pleasure, Jerry. 👍🏻👍🏻
Maureen gives us the straight poop on Hunterline Stains.
New from the Hunters...real wood shingles!
Our own Groovy Jeff had a fascinating clinic on laser cutting. We love the kits...this was a chance to see "behind the curtain."
ONG! Candy store!
Doug's dios...
A few more...
Contest room next...
Hey Bob, was wondering if you were at the curve at the same time....I was there around ten....caught three trains....westbound freight, eastbound freight and followed right behind an eastbound Amtrak.

No Donato, we ended our day at curve. We were in Cresson in the morning. Saw a lot of trains over there.

🤣🤣🤣
Dave,
Thanks again for taking the time to upload photos from the Expo. Looks like some exceptional modeling in the contest room.
Well, we sure missed Jaime's photo skills. You can bet John Siekirk will have some great shots from the contest room.
BIG thanks to Dave and all you others who posted photos for those of us not able to attend..... 8)
Looks to be a good selection of models in the contest room.
Once again thanks for the pictures.
Jerry
Jeff's presentation on turning period prototype structures into models was fascinating.
From proto to kit...
Where y'alls from?
Layout backdrop...Altoona.
Summerhill, PA.
Glad you found it!
Completely by accident, actually! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Took an Expo break this afternoon to do some history tourism. Here's the South Fork Hunting & Fishing Club, summer escape from Pittsburgh by the likes of Carnegie and Frick. Some say it was the club's carelessness in maintaining the property that contributed to tge Johnstown Flood.
Anyway, found it to be an intetesting study in modeling peeling paint.
And the color restoration...

Time to belly-up...
Do NOT tell this crowd the bar ran dry.
Let's eat!
Thanks Dave for posting all these photos.
I am just in awe of the skills, artistry and build quality of all the contest models.
There sure are some very clever people out there !

You're very welcome...John Siekirk will be posting much better ones when he gets home. The big news tonight is that the Expo will be returning as an annual event. Location for '18 TBA.
I just came back from the EXPO awards dinner. Another fine EXPO has been completed and it's time to pack up for the trip home. I spent 4 hours photographing the models in the contest room and will be posting them as soon as I can get the processing done. I'm going to take them down to the drug store to get the film developed as soon as I get home.

Jeff that's no round barn.
Dave,
Thanks very much for all the pictures. I know what is involved in doing such a task. Much appreciate the effort.
John, looking forward to your pictures.
Glad all had a great time.
Tom ;D
Hi all,
Wow! what great looking pictures and it's so fun to see all the visitors, clinics & great modeling. Thanks to all for posting. Whoo-hoo what fun! Thanx Thom...
Dave has done a great job posting pictures of what the Expo is like. My only negative from the trip is that I never got to meet him, and that Jaime didn't make it to the Expo this year. I missed the last Expo, but it seemed to me there were less contest models than normal. They were all still great, however. The clinics were wonderful as was the vendor room. Good to see all the forumites again as well.
Jeff

Wow, that dio that Eric Stoumpos did is amazing! Would love to see more pics of that masterpiece!
This, my first Expo, was fantastic. John S. asked me what the best part was. Hands-down it has to be meeting and hanging out with you Forum guys. If it doesn't conflict with parent conferences I'll be back next year!
Sorry for the lame attempt at filling in for Jaime, especially the contest pictures. Next time I would spend more time on candids of our Forumites and other attendees having a good time. John will be posting his pix soon. Peace!

Agreed! John Siekirk will be doing a thread soon with well-deserved proper pix! 👍🏻 In the meantime, guys, add what you have! 😁
Oh, an added bonus...I got to share the two-hour ride back to P'burgh airport with Dave Revelia. What a privilege bending his ear about the hobby and hearing some great Brian Nolan stories. Thanks for putting up with me, Dave. 👍🏻
Well, I made it back home in one piece from the EXPO. What a drive thunderstorm after thunderstorm - traffic was stopped on the turnpike a couple times because of flooding. I never turned the windshield whippers off the whole trip. I made one stop at Scenic Express on the way out - it was very cool to see their operation and processes from making scenery materials. I helped out the PA economy while I was there.
I'm wondering how everyone that was flying made out.
Dave,
Thanks for the pictures. You did a great job keeping us up to date on what was happening at the expo for those who could not attend. Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got one picture loaded up for a test tonight.
