Sorry -- I checked everywhere I could think of and could not find a tutorial on how to post a topic with embedded pictures. Could someone please point me to a reference to read?
Regards,
Vince
Vince ...
I'll wait for John Siekirk to reply. He is better at explaining such things. He bailed me out in the early days of this forum.
I tried to respond to you about Chicago but it said your mail box was full.

Thanx

Thanks for the heads up on the messages. I just checked and was indeed full. Surprised me that only three messages completely filled my inbox. Maybe that's because I'm still on rookie/probationary/captcha status?
In this section- FORUM RULES - there are 3 or 4 topics dealing with pictures. I found them helpful when I was putting up my first picture.

Here is a link to the thread on posting pictures using the gallery. It is the best way to get nice big in-post pictures. Please let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing your posts and welcome to the forum.

That link indicates it is now lost in the abyss of time.
it's a quirk of this forum's software that the "quick reply" window at the bottom of the page does NOT support photos. Instead, you have to click on the "REPLY" button just above the "quick reply" place.
Then you'll see a place where you can drag-and-drop photos, or if you click in that place, it brings up a browser to select photos on your computer.
(This doesn't address the problem Rick is having. I suspect that's related to restrictions on new members. It'll be important for the administrators to keep up with the flood of members arriving here after the sinking of Railroad-Line.)

Dave I will be checking in a few times a day to catch this kind of stuff. Craig has message to check Rick's status, most likely a switch not flipped. You are right about the Quick reply function being limited, would like to remove it but cost more then it is worth to leave in place.
I just found out about the Reply icon.
I used it and uploaded a photo and it worked.
I was using the Quick Reply which doesn't work.
Thanks to everyone for the advice and help.
