Title: 2018 Winter Build Challenge CCK'S John Shea Co.
Post by: Raymo on December 31, 2017, 10:28:16 AM
This will be my challenge build, a new kit just released by Jeff of the John Shea Co.. The prototype for this kit was in the center of Methuen Mass. and I found photos on the web taken a few years back and gave them to Jeff at the EXPO. Here's the photos off the web..

I won't get to deep into starting this till Jimmy's kit is done, but I have a few ideas of modifying this kit so I might play around with it while tonight.

I will be following along and doing by best to keep Bob and Greg in-line. It looks like a great kit. I can't believe it took Jeff so long to get this kit out if he's had the pictures since the EXPO.  He must be slowing down in his old age.

John, I think I had it 2 weeks after the EXPO, definitely before Thanksgiving. I was going to build it right away until Jimmy started welling up and crying at Marlborough Show about some dying kids wish to see a build thread on the Franklin Electric building so Jimmy could use it for the kit directions... True story.. Not really..

Holy cow! That is one scary guy. Not Donato but the guy in the picture.

I feel the need to post something to this thread hopefully to move from this page so I don't have to see Donato's friend anymore.

I chose these two colors to paint the buildings and trim. Like Tom and his build, I like the Pacemaker Red for the trim and windows.

This will be the biggest modification to the building, the rear wall on the right is the original. The one on the left has the changes I've made, I swapped the upper window and door, and added a set of double doors to the lower left.  Instead of the taller windows, I'm going to use the same 4 over 4 windows on the lower floor as they are on the 2nd level.
