Over the last three weeks, I've started "The Red Light District" from FOS. I want to use the middle five buildings on my East Dubuque town scene. I'm not even sure I'll use the two end buildings, but I've finished the first. I didn't start a build thread, as I'm basically following ReadingBob's fine thread from last year, so no use repeating stuff. And, it's taken three weeks to get this far. The rust effect on the tile is a little too heavy, but it's done. On to building number two.
Jeff
Jeff, You might consider toning it down with some powders.

Ed, thanks for the advice. It looks more stark in the picture as the picture is mostly lit with flash. Looking at it under the layout lighting, the yellow sign could use some toning down. :o
Jeff
Another great build Jeff.
That looks appropriately seedy to me! :D ;) Great job! Can't wait to see the rest. ;D
Good work Jeff.....looking forward to the rest of the build. :)
Jeff...
When you get around to putting people on the street.......... You need to find a bunch of Preiser figures that look like they are wearing top coats ! ! ! !
Great build
thanx

Eww. Thanks for that image :o
Sorry Vince...
That is left over from a previous life time.
When I was in the school of music at De Paul on south Wabash in Chicago, I use to frequent the pawn shops on Wabash and South State. I was studying arranging and composition and we needed to know how the various instruments worked, sounded and ranges. Yes all of that could be taken out of a book but noodling with the instruments was just plain fun.
I say my single reed playing as so much calling in of ducks and geese. I never tried double reeds.
The pawn shops noted above were salt and peppered in with the sorts of store fronts that Jeff is modeling. So I couldn't resist as I had to navigate just such personages.
If you don't recall such things in that part of town.............lucky you ! ! ! !
see ya
Bob
Jeff,
Am ready for more... ;)

Thanks, guys. I'm slowly getting on to the next one.
