Title: HO Scale Lumber Wraps
Post by: richhard444 on August 26, 2018, 11:26:48 AM
Does anybody out there have HO scale artwork for Lumber Stack loads to use on flat cars? If so would you be willing to share? I am interested in 1940/1950's "Weyerhaeuser Brand"
Thanks
Richard

Richard,

I model 1920 so I am far from an expert.  It is hard to pin down the actual year that lumber was wrapped for shipment by rail.  I have seen the question asked a couple times and the consensus seems to be that it was some time around 1960.  I did find some wrappers that can be downloaded and printed in a Model Railroad Hobbyist article.  Here's a link to some comments about the article including a question re: when wraps came into use as well as a link to the issue.

You might want to become a member of the steam era freight cars.io group and pose the question to them.  There are some extremely knowledgable individuals in that group.
