Hi Folk, finally getting back in the groove of getting some new kits done. I have been wanting to expand our HO Scale vehicle line in the early era ever since Jordan shut down. I also intend to introduce some smaller vehicles of the era, but this one really intrigued me. It is an early 1905-1907 6 1/2 Ton Electric Moving Van. The Vehicles were produced by the Commercial Motor Vehicle Company in Detroit. 4 Wheel Steering and from what I can find out, used a gas engine to power the electric motors on each wheel. I have had to take some liberties on the under carriage design as I could not find much info about it on the net. I beefed up the wheels and springs from the Canada Contraption that was produced by the sister company.

So, getting started, I had to prepare a detailed 3D model and then turn that into panels and part of the right thicknesses and materials for laser cutting.

Then we have to get all the bits sorted and laid out for cutting and graphics printed.

(I hope Jimmy does not mind the version for hauling all those new FSM castings to the shows!
The 3D Parts and the smallest things I have produced yet and will surely drive some people crazy, but they really make the kit when completed.

(Remember, you are looking at a total of 1" x 1.3" of 3D printed parts.

Adding the under carriage and starting the 3D details.
More 3D printed details...
... tedious but rewarding!!!!
After this it is a few wire railings and figuring out the bottom wire step. Then just a bit more weathering and I think we are done!
Holy Smokes! That's one weird looking prototype vehicle and one dynamite model! Well done! ;D
Darryl,
That is amazingly well detailed, especially for its small size!
