Title: New Lisbon engine house
Post by: ak-milw on April 28, 2014, 07:17:56 PM
I am starting on the engine house that sat inside the wye in New Lisbon, Wis. It will not be a very exciting build seeing that it is basicly three walls and a roof but I figured I would post it anyway. I have the walls cut out and started bracing. I am using lap siding basswood sheet for the walls and 3/16 sq. for the bracing. The build is in HO and will measure 9 inches at it's longest part and 5 inches wide. The front of the building will sit against the backdrop at an angle, so we just get to see the back.

I cut out the window openings and braced the three walls.

I got it painted and no I didn't run out of paint, you will see why later, but I think you can figure it out before.

No doors Cor, it sits against the backdrop so there is no front.

All the roof junk is on.

I will post pictures of all the sides when I get it on the layout.

Andy.........

I didn't understand either but it is a very cool idea........  Are you doing anything on the wall or back drop to continue the foot print of the building ?

I wish I could Bob but I am not that good of an artist. I tried it a couple other times with different backdrops and ruined everyone, so I gave up trying.
