Life got in the way and I couldn't finish Moscone by the contest deadline, but today I put the wraps on it and its companion, Ideal Hosiery. I'll be building a new town at the club so these two will serve for groundbreaking. I've started Hollis Exterminators as well, so downtown Centerville is gonna be an interesting neighborhood. A few years ago I started FSM's Avram's Bakery and it looks like I have a reason to finish it this summer...it may be perfect to anchor the outskirts of town.
Deadlines don't mean diddly - life and other mental diversions always interrupt the hobby!
The only important thing is you love the hobby and always come back to it!
Your club is gonna have a great new town - an interesting neighborhood is a very mild statement
for Centerville - with these kits, it will be awesome!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D
I think it'll be "Off-Centerville."
That looks great as well as a fun Kit to build.
Ken
A great couple of kits, Ken. Moscone gave me a chance to try something new with its ground-level stucco.
Well done Dave! Your club is lucky to have you building structures for them. Don't forget to post some pictures of the structures in place once the town is finished (in progress photo's are welcome too of course). ;D
Thanks, Bob. The town is my project for the summer...I'll keep y'all updated with pix.
Nice work on two great looking structures!
Jeff
Thanks, Jeff. They're great kits.
Hi Dave:
Very nicely done.
Karl
Thank you kindly, Karl. You'll get a kick out of this...when I first started structure building (8 or so years ago) I had two "mentors": Scotty Mason via his DVDs and you via your build threads on the "old" forum. In fact, to this day I call transfer tape "Karl Tape" because I'd never heard of it before I saw you using it. Incidentally, my first-ever dio was "Karl Scholz Blacksmith" by Fos. So, in case no one has told you...you've had an influence in the hobby!
Great looking build Dave.....I'm looking forward to the pics of the town.
The build looks great and I also learned the proper name for "Karl's Tape" which will stick.
They look great! Ideal is on my wish list so it is nice to see. Again great job !
Thank you all very kindly. Very enjoyable kits. Doug has it down. They go together superbly.
Hi Dave:
Sounds cool. Whats Next on your list? Keep us informed OK.
Karl
Got a few that need to be finished, and then use them to create the town of Centerville on the club layout. And I really need to put on the big boy pants and try a South River kit. I've got several in the stash waiting for my confidence to warm up. Kingston Creamery is likely to be first of the SRMW kits.
Hi Dave:
sound like a good choice. Never built A SRMW kit either. Can't afford em.
Karl
Yeah...the few I have were occasional Christmas gifts. The ONLY one I got that year! :-)
