Title: A place for Woodland Scenics Kit Pictures
Post by: nvrr49 on December 20, 2013, 08:03:15 PM
I love the metal kits from Woodland Scenics, so I thought I would create a thread where anyone could post pictures of their completed or in progress kits.(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F4.bp.blogspot.com%2F-Qenwa6M87UA%2FUokJ7afQ9CI%2FAAAAAAAACDU%2FwDgX30VAk7c%2Fs640%2FAIL%2BDSC_0014.JPG&hash=ac7f78d7cd3e8f26c7c415128e76994ffba24564)

I have a few more but I can't find pictures at the moment.  I have at least 4 more unbuilt structures. Mostly picked up at swap meets from modelers that get intimidated working with metal

Love the detailing on  these, I wrote to WS asking who did the original work as it was so impressive but they "don't give out that information"  Anyway here's my chicken coop. (I'm still painting chickens)....(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fd1ke3s7oc9e1xt.cloudfront.net%2Fpublic%2Falbum_photo%2Faf%2Fe4%2F07%2F7d5d2_d690.JPG%3Fc%3Dbc6e&hash=8c408fbec4ea7b5f1b333914ccd42377b7d9d646)

Brill. So much character built in. They are great little kits. I much prefer the old lead pewter ones which are much easier to clean up and today's versions have a load more flash, no doubt the moulds are wearing down.

They need to pull out the masters and make new molds!  I Believe the old ones were lead, and the new ones are pewter.  True pewter does not have any lead in it.

Title: Woodland Scenics Diamond T truck kit
Post by: barrymk on January 15, 2014, 03:23:00 PM
I bought this the other day from a local hobby shop. Rarer than hen's teeth round here  - hobby shops and WS metal kits. I thought it would make a good supply truck for my mines.  It would have given 25 years of dogged service in my timeline so deserves to look a bit tired. Fiddly, little kit to put together but worth it in the end.

These are a nice easy build...assuming all the parts are there.

An old meets new picture, old cast metal kit tractors and a shop and machine shed that is 3d printed.

Not sure what I am going to do with it, but it will fit somewhere on the layout.

Not sure if this will work, but I'll try:

Very short because the video was way too big!

Not sure where I will use it, but every town needs a shoe repair shop.
