I am learning how to post photos and this is the first.
A modified Bachmann On30 Porter.
Darryl,
Nothing like posting a show stopper for your first photo. I love that little Porter, it has so much character. Looking forward to more pics of your work.
Hey Darryl:
Looks great to me.

This is another photo of the same locomotive.
I removed the stock Porter cab and replaced it with the cab from Bachmann's On30 Davenport Gas Mechanical.
I then extended the boiler back to the cab, added another dome and a headlight from an old 1/43rd fire truck.
The inspiration for the model is a small 0-4-0 built by Earl Martin back in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
Earl's version used an HOn3 mechanism.
Earl's model was featured in Finelines, an early Bob Brown publication.

The pictures look great - that is one fine locomotive. I'm looking forward to your future posts. Thank you for sharing with us.
Great work Darryl.....neat loco. 8)
Darryl - I sympathize with your struggles learning how to post photos on this forum. The process is less than intuitive and is, at times, very frustrating. It would also be helpful to be able to copy and paste a Word document onto the forum. But, these inconveniences aside, the forum provides a very welcome and useful service to those of us who, as Redding Bob says, don't cross the fine line between hobby and mental illness.
I like the loco.
Judge,
I actually find uploading photos to this forum to be very easy compared to railroad line forums.
I'll try to contribute regularly.
Darryl,
I like the weathering on the loco, very nice.
