Title: metal castings
Post by: Lynnb on March 28, 2020, 07:07:14 PM
Hi guys , I have lots of catching up to do , looks like everyone has been busy.
I have a question about metal castings, what is the purpose for using Jaxx on them , is it just to give them some bite for the priming paint?

Hi Lynn,
Essentially it will blacken the white metal. if you polish it after, you obtain  a very realistic iron color or gun metal color. You will use Jax when you Don't want to paint the casting.
there's no matter to use it before priming.
Eric.

Thanks Eric , I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I just went through the steps to blacken all the metal castings for Foss Landing for nothing. I'll have to now clean them up and prime them for paint. :-[
