Hi All:
Here is my next build. Artie sent me this kit to test build on the forum.
Karl
Oh, good. I heard he was closing down for a bit so I bought a gas station. I'm guessing they would go together about the same.
Karl,
Looking forward to the build. I believe Bar Mills has a slightly different version of this same kit so a modeler can build a pair of small stations with a "family look".
Bob,
Art had to stop production because Maine has forced closure of all non-essential businesses. Art is still there, he will ship orders from existing stock, and is offering free shipping to the US. Details are on the Bar Mills Facebook page.
I'll be looking in Karl. :)
Looking forward to the build Karl.
Jerry
Hey Guys:
Thanks for coming along the build.

What gas station did you get?
Karl
Bud Smileys. I had to get back in and find out. Didn't realize that there was more than one. Smileys is a better fit for my area anyway. I seem to have a thing for Texacos.
Hey Bob:
Here's the one I scratch built and gave to George. It resides on the F&SM RR. I built it from A photo of the real gas station. Artie turned it into Bud Smiley's. He did not include the side Garage.
Karl
Karl I haven't caught up on your previous builds yet :o
Following when I get caught up :)
Hey Lynn:
sounds good. Glad to have you aboard.
Karl
Hey All:
Got a little work done today. I painted all the parts. I changed my colors to Depot Buff and Depot Olive. Here's A photo.
Karl
Hi All:
The Walls and platform are ready for assembly. I added extra bracing to 3 of the walls not included in the kit or the instructions. The 4 braces next to the corner trim were added to add a gluing surface for the side walls. On the freight door wall I added the two outer pieces as this wall is very fragile. Here's A few Photos.
Karl
Karl,
Nice start on the station.
Your Richfield Gas Station is my favorite gas station of all time and of any kit now or on the market in the past.
Tom ;D
Hey Tom:
thanks buddy much appreciated. Bar Mills makes A kit of it. Bud Smileys Gas Stop. It's A Texaco Station.
Karl
Hey All:
Here's A few progress shots. Brick foundation has been added to the base. Walls are assemble and glued to the p[latform.
Karl
Nice start Karl.
Hey Guys:
Looks like aI have som,e small touch ups to do.
Karl
Hey Curt:
thanks buddy much appreciated.

Karl,
You might get a laugh out of this but on Artie's website for the Bud Smiley's kit is a photo I took of Clyde Queens O scale version of the kit. It's in the lower right hand corner with the gas station attendant in white uniform.
Nice color combination. :)
hey Bruce.
Interesting I will have to check it out.
Karl
Hey Lynn:
glad you like the color combo. Thanks.
Karl
Hey Bruce:
I checked it out. Very cool.
Karl
I agree with Lynn--classic color combination. Can't go wrong with that.
--Opa George
Looking good Karl , aren't those colors a bit extreme for you ;)
Hey George:
Glad you like the colors.
Karl
Hey janbouli:
I've used that color combination more than once. It's one of my favorites.

I just thought they looked a bit brighter then normal , must be the lighting.
Hey Jan:
Could be. I took the pic under brighter lights than usual.
Karl
Nice Karl, but shouldn't be "Pee-bitty".. ;D
Karl,
I managed to send a couple of photos into Artie from Clyde Queens layout (IE Clyde's On30 layout was featured in NGG). That photo is the only surviving one at this time on the Bar Mills website. I did have one photo from Clyde's Idaho Hotel and an Oakleaf model from Warren Smith in the past on the Website.
BTW, this new kit looks pretty cool. Any idea when Art might be releasing it to the public? I want one!
Hi Raymo:
Don't worry its getting changed to Barmills. Thanks for the compliment.
Karl
Hey Bruce:
thanks for the compliment. I think they are almost ready to go out but give Artie A call to find out for sure.
Karl
Hey All:
Got the roof done today except for a small pipe chimney. I will get to that later today. Here's some photos.
Karl
Looks great, Karl.
Looks like a neat little kit. I like the ridge design.
Cheers, Mark.
Neat little build.
Hey Mark & Curt:
Thanks for the great compliments guys. Much appreciated. Waiting for two kits from Interaction Hobbies up in British Columbia Canada to build on the internet. Keeger's Garage & Repair and the Moonshiners Cabin with interior.
Karl
Cute little building.
Bob is right--cute kit! I saw this on the Bar Mills website and wasn't "grabbed" by it like some of their designs. But your build, Karl, really highlights all the best aspects. This makes me want to order one.
--Opa George
Nice looking station for a waypoint.
Hey Bob, George and Steve:
Hey guys thanks for the great compliments much appreciated.
Karl
Hey guys:
this one is finished. Here's the pics.
Karl
Well done Karl.....neat station. 8)
Nice looking build.
Looks great Karl, what did you use for the chimney painting and grout?
Whats the next build or are you already started ? ;D
Hi Karl,
Boy, that's one great looking station. Good Job!
I got an email from Artie this morning and he says this about this kit
Bruce...
Stay tuned to our "Monday Morning AT The Station" videos on Facebook and on our website. I hope things are well.
Art
It's sure great to hear from Art. Glad he's doing well in this crisis. I hope you are well and I look forward to seeing whatever else you have been working on.
BTW, have you heard anything about how George Sellios is doing recently?
Yo Karl,
I just wanted to let you know that my box with TWO different versions of the kit arrived from Bar Mills yesterday. Boy do these kits look cool.
Thank again for doing the build on the forum. You certainly ended up with another masterpiece.
Hey Greg & Curt:
thanks for the compliments. Much appreciated.
Karl
Hey Karl
You sure worked your magic on a small building. Great job.
Jerry
