Hi All:
Darryl Jacobs of Interaction Hobbies sent me this kit to build on the Fourm. Hope you Enjoy.
Karl
Looking forward to seeing you're build Karl..... :)
Karl,
Looks like a very nice kit. I'll watch also.
Tom ;D
Hey Greg And Tom:
Thanks for following along. Never built this companies kits before. Darryl sent them to me to build here on the forum. I really like the looks of his kits. Here's the colors I will be using. He used Vallejo Game Colors. No where to get them around here that I can find. The color I chose are Americana Avocado And Burnt sienna. Here's A sample of what they will look like. They are Extremely close to his colors.
Karl
Hi guys:
My walls and trim are pained. Here's a photo.
Karl
The colors look well together.
Karl,
Looks great so far. I think you'll like this kit if it is as well designed as his truck kits. I definitely see one of these buildings in my future.
This one looks familiar...
Wow, that's a really faithful reproduction, down to the corbels and the fancy screen door. One step further would have been to reproduce the garage in cinderblock instead of wood, but that probably would have added considerably to the kit cost.

Hey Curt:
Thanks buddy much appreciated.
Karl
Hey Jerry:
Yeah it's a nice kit. We shall see how it goes.
Karl
Hey Raymo:
Nice where did you find that photo?
Karl
Hey Geogre:
Glad to have you along. I kinda like the wood siding better than cinder block.

Hey Raymo:
Nice where did you find that photo?
Karl
I found it on a website called The Hokey Ass Message Boards or known as the H.A.M.B forums years ago. They have 1000's of pages of old photos. This building was also done by Jeff Grove as "Raymond and Sons" in CCK's early days
Thats a nice colour combination. Bracing all done on inside?
Holy crap on a cracker Karl! you are already half done and I haven't even sent the kits to you yet!
Raymond, that's the photo I used for the model. Tried to keep it close to the original and included optional confectionary awning. If you look closely at the picture, you can see that the awning says CONFECTIONARY on it. Would have loved to found the complete back story on the building but we made it as best as we could. I did not know that CCK did a kit of it? He has some great stuff!
Here is some extra signage!

Sweet! (pun intended) I ordered it yesterday, Don't know where the prototype was from. Nice job again!
Hey Raymo:
Thanks for the info.
Karl
Hey Lynnb:
thanks glad you like the colors.
Karl
Hey Darry:
I wouldn't say I was half done already. Darryl had to cut the bracing on the front wall down about a 1/16th of an inch as it protruded above the side wall and would have interfered with the roof.
Thanks Karl
Hey Raymo:
glad you are getting one. It's a nice kit.
Karl
Hi All:
Got the cornice and front wall trim finished. Hope it looks ok.
Karl
That looks great with those colors Karl.
Hey Curt:
Thanks much appreciated.

Karl
Hi All:
Finished the front wall here's a pic.
Karl
The signage is a perfect color to go with the walls.
Hey Curt:
Glad you like how it looks. Thanks.
Karl
Hey Guys:
Here is A progress shot of my progress. As can be seen no weathering on this one. The owner just had the shop painted.
Karl
Hey guys:
Opps wrong pic. but good to have that one there to see how and why I'm not weathering this guy.
Karl
Love the colors , and it's nice to see a building that's been taken care for once in a while , maybe we should have more of these on our layouts.
Hey Jan:
glad you like how it looks. Yeah I decided to do this one w/o all that weathering just to see if others would like it. This is how the pics are on the instructions.
Thanks Karl
I agree with Jan, it is nice once in a while to see a nicely maintained building. Nicely done Karl. My kit has been despatched today from Canada.
Mike ;)
Nice job Karl..... 8)

Tommy

More pics:
Karl
Karl,
Another winner my friend, great job.
Tom ;D
Hey Tom:
Thanks I'm working on it.
Karl
Hi All:
Darryl forgot to put the roofing material in my kit so I used Paper Creek roofing dry-brushed with light gray. Let know if it looks ok and be honest.
Karl
It looks good Karl. I would probably add black to a couple of edges for simulated tar.
Hey Curt:
Thanks much appreciated.
Karl
Karl,
Love the roofing, well done sir.
Tom ;D
hey Tom:
Thanks buddy appreciate it.
Karl
Hey Guys:
This one is finished. Here's the photos.
Karl
Here's another photo.
Excellent modeling and colors Karl.
Love it Karl, now Darryl needs to make it in N-scale ;)
Hey Curt & Janbouli:
Thanks for the great compliments. Much appreciated.
Karl
Good looking structure. A lot of character in a small package.
As to the roof - Typical building owner. They give the siding a fresh coat of paint but neglect the roof. What gets seen, gets pampered. I'd think that the jagged edges of the rolled roofing would show frayed edges, from being weather beaten. Not sharp edges. But that's just me and you asked.
Looks great Karl. I'm happy with the dirty matte roof as is. I prefer that to the repaired look personally.
Great work overall, as always!
John
Awesome job as usual Karl! I like your placement of the included surprise "Shop Cat"!
hey Bob:
Thanks for the critique. Much appreciated.
Karl
Hey John:
Thanks for the great compliment. Much appreciated.
Karl
Hey Darryl:
glad you like how it came out. Yeah I said what's that green thing in that tube. The I saw it was A cat and said yep that has to be on the model. We are cat people. Our Cat's name is Harley and he weighs in at 23 lbs.
Kar.
Karl, your cat weighs more than both our dogs put together. My niece/nephew had a Maine Coon Cat that was over 20 lbs, too.
