Happy I ordered these just before they closed down along with some other kits and some walls for scratchbuilding.
The Manual , the kit was not in a box but in a plastic bag.(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%281%29.jpg&hash=190bd99b74403b1ea9436ffa0f7f6090e3053380)
The parts , all neatly sealed in the plastic bag.

Started by adding the corners to the walls .
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%283%29.jpg&hash=d95ef9e0c3c19b2077c0c1bf03160359d181890e)

Connecting walls , using the magnetic jig to get things perfectly square.
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%285%29.jpg&hash=c9a63f5c99060379e01a79c48a7719606779166c)
Made a small mistake on the corners , the corners of the back wall should be even with the side wall, fixed that by gluing a piece of corner on top, as you can see in the next photo.
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%286%29.jpg&hash=f8579597b1978855859e2ab2f25d6c3122e295bc)
Connected all the walls.

Next up roof supports.

I'll be following. I made 2 of their kits before they closed. You should enjoy it.
Nice.
Makes one wonder is someone else will ever offer the same kind of kit.
Jaime
Jan
Jimmy did a great job with these kits - I too bought a bunch of his stuff before he decided to pursue other interests. He set the bar very high for anyone producing laser cut brick and stone. I hoped that someone would buy his business and continue producing this high quality product. So far - no good news.
I will be following along on your build.
Following along Jan. Looks interesting. ;) I don't have any experience with these. Wish I had bought a few while they were still around. Like I need more kits in the stash. ::)
Hey Janbouli:
I will be following along. Looks like you are off to a good start.
Karl
Thanks for all the encouragement guys , his website is offline so I think there is little chance someone will pick up . As for n-scale , the brick walls are excellent but imho Rich's are better . Don't know about H0 , but the N-scale brick you can tell it's been cut diagonally , don't think it will be that noticeable after I'm done , but it was when before priming and still after priming. I'll show some photo's later.
Jan,
I'll be along for this one as well. I'm curious as to how you will color the brick.
Nice start.
Tom ;D
Jimmy just resurfaced yesterday, joining us on the F&SM Facebook page. He's considering beginning to offer some of his products again, but on a much more limited, just-for-fun basis.
Mr. Simmon's was very innovative in his approach to craftsman structures, I hope to see him offering the structures again. In the meantime, the same techniques Jimmy used in burning wood are being offered by Imagine That Laser Art out of Canada. They are also very innovative in the hobby, there are others I realize, but ITLA comes to mind first. In respect to Jimmy, I think he made everyone aware of the capabilities of the laser cutter at an early stage.
Stay safe folks
Bob
Nice building Jan.....I'll be looking in..... :)
Jan,
Neat building !
Tommy
Thanks Greg and Tommy , glad to have you along.
As for ITLA , yes nice products , but only 2 structures in N-scale.
Bracing and inner sides of wall above roof done , normally I do bracing and painting before I install the walls , but I held to the manual this time. (https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2810%29.jpg&hash=b26a792e55d1e33bc3bd2a311e06ad271dc32d41)

After a coat of primer gray from badger I did the walls with artists markers , I tried a small piece of the side wall first and liked what I saw. I used 4 different color's of markers , not sure if I will weather the walls a bit to blend it more or leave it this way.
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2812%29.jpg&hash=f8cca3f64080e8785b21014c4bbea92dcbb57072)

I then painted the front lower wall , the shop , with Vallejo Air ( yes you can brush it on too ) Light Blue. I had already installed the frames for the doors and window , but that didn't look right so I took them out again, I'll do the doors and windows another way later.
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2814%29.jpg&hash=f22ab8c9d97c8d9e91b0e8f3b4305c451ab29373)
Painted the window lintels Polly Scale Aged Concrete.
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2815%29.jpg&hash=530a6d01965e0aba844ed2204b668b8bad04f607)

Installed the thick acrylic window included in the kit , and a back wall of the shop.
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2817%29.jpg&hash=0795bb0a3468fc8a4bc06bd83c564979b8ada72a)
Several shop interiors that I collected from the internet and printed on photopaper.
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2818%29.jpg&hash=5821172a36201298f2e4a743b057d43be480247b)
The doors and window are peel and stick , I stuck them to the acrylic glazing and then painted the acrylic glazing around the doors and windows the same color , that created a much better looking frame then the one provided in the kit. Paint color of the doors and windows Vallejo Air Pale Blue .
(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2819%29.jpg&hash=fe7f259cca4f33d5e752019affaea169039ceefa)
Looks great Jan. Does the door opening look oversized? They seemed to be on the kits I built.

Thanks Curt. To me the doors look a bit narrow , the openings look okay.
Hey jan:
The brick walls look just beautiful so far. Can't to see this one finished.
Karl
Thank you Karl , the brick looks real good from the 2 foot distance and the diagonal cuts are luckily not visible once painted.
Jan,
Very nicely done on the walls and I like the white lower portion. Can't tell you how many older structures in Orlando had that look. A great majority of them were torn down in the early 60's for the then new I-4 Interstate.
Tom ;D
Thank you Tom , I do hope this would have been seen in Kansas as well, didn't really do any research on thet.

Probably not, at least not until the 70's on. Fun fact - until 1987 you could not buy liquor in Kansas except in state run liquor stores. Soooo, as long as you model post 1987, your store interior is good. But let's face it, I'm the one, if not the only one, who knows this on this board, and I would not suggest you change a thing. It looks good, and really who cares that much for historical accuracy, especially when you're dealing with Kansas. ;D

The liquor store interior is going anyway , I totally forgot what the wall plaque says , so now I'm looking for a toy store interior in 1960 , bound to be model trains there ;D
N-scale windows , it's hard to love them , even when they look this good.(https://modelersforum.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fjanbouli.com%2Fimages%2Fgebouwen%2FMMW3sto%2FMMW3sto-%2820%29.jpg&hash=ca66d7ac263b2f102256b6957368441e2e519626)

Excellent modeling Jan. Love the drapes.
Very nice work, Jan. Love the shades and the brick finish.
Jeff
Very well done. Hard to believe that it is Nscale.
Thank you Curt, Jeff , Bob, appreciate it.
Super job Jan! I have to remind myself that the pictures on my large monitor are larger than the actual structure itself. If it looks great when blown up bigger than it really is that's quite a feat. ;D
Jan,
The building came out great, very well done. I love the brick color - very natural.
Tom ;D
Thank you Bob and Tom , the compliments are greatly appreciated.
Neat building.....great job Jan. 8)
Hey Jan:
Beautiful job on this one. Bricks look just great.
Karl
Jan
Fantastic modeling. The brick is exceptional, and in N scale. Great job.
Superb job, Jan. Always good to see work by a fellow N-scaler that demonstrates what can be done in the smaller scales.
Thank you all for the nice compliments , very encouraging, makes me wanna go and build another one fast , oh , wait a minute , I just did another one , photo's coming tonight.
