Title: So I signed up for Expo 2015 - what should I expect?
Post by: NEMMRRC on July 07, 2014, 08:01:46 AM
Howdy.

I've signed up.

Anything new this year from previous years?

It seems the Expo crew just keeps jamming in more stuff each year.

See you all there.

I'll be driving up from FL.  Sure would appreciate it if the Expo boys would make sure there's none of that white stuff on the ground in Scranton when we come up.  My van doesn't know what snow looks like and I'd like to keep it that way.   :D

We signed up months ago. I've been away from the hobby for awhile, but I knew if I waited to long, I would regret it...I have a CCK kit in mind for a diorama, and will start on it this fall, once the dimensions are decided upon.

Makes one wonder if Raymo will bring a model of a truck loaded with bananas.

It was just after dark when the truck started down
The hill that leads into Scranton Pennsylvania.
Carrying thirty thousand pounds of bananas.
Carrying thirty thousand pounds (hit it Big John) of bananas.

:D   :P   ::)

Besides, where else can you go to see a Reading T1?   ;D

My employer has a distribution center in Scranton, PA. I visited that location on business 3 times before I realized Steamtown was in Scranton. I've yet to go for the 4th time.

Talk about feeling stoopid.

A message posted on July 7 said more info would be coming very soon. 2 months ago, and nothing further? I really would like a some idea as to clinics and which mfrs will be there, before I commit to reserving a room there for the middle of the snow season. It could be a heavy slog up there from NC, if the weather doesn't co-operate.

Expo 2015 is at the very end of March. That's after snow season and into mud season up here in PA. You might have the EXPO time mixed up with the Springfield show as far as snow season goes.

Hmm. I seem to recall shoveling newly fallen snow in early April while visiting my brother in MA., last year. But maybe they have different weather in PA lol

John, if you want Spring at that time of year, turn right at somewhere around Cleveland and drive about 8 hours. We get spring around mid Feb. down here in NC :)

Hi Jim

If we have another winter like last year I will be driving in from Arizona or Florida instead of Michigan in March. I leave Michigan when the River freezes over and we can't fish for Steelhead trout.

I see Jimmy posted the following:

"I added the first two Platinum Clinics to The EXPO website (http://www.modelrailroadexpo.com/clinics.html) yesterday. (One is called "Let's Get Stoned...")"

"I also updated the website with the current vendor list (http://www.modelrailroadexpo.com/vendors.html). This week I'll add Bar Mills Models as soon as I get their registration - they are indeed coming. We have verbal commitments from a bunch more vendors. Stay Tuned!"
Woo Hoo!
