Good Morning Bob and those that follow,

I need to run up to Sanford first thing to get a new locking ring for the pool filter tower. After returning there is a bunch of routine maintenance to do on the pool and then a haircut at 4.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning,

It is so hot I am considering moving to Florida to cool off. Opps, so we can't cross the border yet. Oh well!

Cutting the grass wore me out yesterday. I still got some work done on the layout thread.

Layout clean up time now and move to the next project.

Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning! We had thunderstorms here all night last night - wave after wave.  My grass is all laying down from the water running down the hill.  Day three of carpet installation . ::)  My train room is full of stuff. :o I will be spending my day moving stuff - I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning and Happy Thursday, all,

Last evening I painted the canal/creek surface (I mod podge over paint for my water) and got a suitable mucky canal color.  I am using foamboard for the surface and painted it before installing against the stone foundation walls of the factory (don't want to slop mucky green onto the painted wall).  This morning I noticed the foamboard warped slightly as the paint dried--Oops.  Does water run uphill?

No real problem. Foam board is flexible enough that it will return to shape when I hot glue it in place.  Once I add a dozen or so layers of mod podge, it won't budge!

Take care everyone, and for those in the northeast, beware of the intense heat today.

Mornin' all...

Hot here again but no humidity.  Life in the west in the summer.

The boys are coming for an ops session this afternoon.   I finally logged in the cars that I had built over the last year.    Six box cars that I put up some of the trick shots on this forum and then another bunch of eight Labelle kits that came out of Jim Miller's estate.  Thanx Tom for your participation in that.

Four of the cars were box cars and the other four were flats that I put machinery loads onto and tied down.

There were a few others so they all got put into my car card system over the last days.   One of the things I added to this system is a photo of the car so the operators have a clue as to what to look for.   MS Word makes all of this easy now.

The card system is my own invention taken from a lot of systems including some ideas from Gerry Hopkins in Australia.   It is based on building of trains when the conductor comes into a town.   It allows for operator choice of train length and mix of empties.  The cards follow the car and train so nothing gets lost and the number of operators on any given session is inconsequential.

The routes are set and each goes to a place that is distinct to that route so there is a lot of interchange of cars to make the deliveries.

Lots of fun without being a brain buster.

Have a great day.

see ya
Bob
