Hello everyone,
I just finished up Fine Scale Miniatures Barnstead Lumber last night. Here are a few pics of the finished project.

Overall this was a fun build. Took a little longer than I had expected with all the summer stuff going on. Hopefully I'll get this one installed on the layout in the next few days and I can start working the area around it in.
Thanks for checking in.
Steve,
Excellent build of one of my favorite FSM kits.
Frank
Thanks Frank!
Nice diorama. Question for you, did you stain the "new" lumber or just leave it the stripwood color. I know it's wood, but it usually looks too light to me. Yours looks great.
Jeff
Wonderful build , excellent job.
Thanks guys!
Jeff, I did a really light wash of A&I on it. I always feel like unfinished basswood looks weird on a diorama. I've had decent success using hunterline driftwood stain to darken up "new" wood but I tried it this time and I wasn't happy with it. I think my light A&I is 40% less ink than my normal wash. My normal is 20ml to a quart of alcohol. I use it for taking the brightness off signs and people as well.
Steve,
Just perfectly nasty, in a good sense for sure. Love the weathering. Great job on this one.
Tom ;D
Everything looks perfect.
Perfect coloring all around!

Steve
You did a fantastic job! - it will look great on your layout. What did you use for the shingles?
Thanks for the info, Steve.

First class all the way. Really great job. Loved the details.

Great stuff, Steve.
Your attention to detail and workmanship is second to none. Interesting to see the back of this kit. I never knew it straddled the tracks.
Cheers, Mark.
Great work, Steve! Excellent craftsmanship throughout.
Yes, absolutely top shelf results with a huge amount of really nice detailing.

Steve,
Nice job on one of my favorite FSM kits.
That was my first diorama done some 35 years ago...and it's still on the shelf here.
Your build was done really well ! Great photos show off your modeling skills.
Tommy
Thanks Tom!
I know this is an old thread but wanted to acknowledge the beautiful work you did on one of my favorite FSM kits. Built it twice years ago for other folks.
Cheers,
George
Sadly, since this, Steve has decided to move on from HO scale and try his hand at another scale.
I bought many of his casting from this layout. I look forward to his superior modeling in the future.
Tom
I too, can only concur with the others before me, this is an outstanding build.
One of my favorite models.
Rich
Thanks guys, like all FSM kits, this was a fun build. I love old lumber yards and George did a great job representing one with this kit.

Awesome!
Wow! Very nice indeed!
Thanks Mayatic!
This diorama eventually got installed on my layout, which has since been disassembled.
