Title: The Pork Store in HO

Finally got this one out the door.  You might recognize this iconic building from the Sopranos. Optional Interior detail kit. (Body parts in dumpster not included!)

Spectacular modeling, Darryl. My gosh -- so much to look at. The details of course, but the weathered streets and parking  lot, the dumpster, stone face on the building, nicely-draped gingham table cloths. Just wow all the way around.

How long did it take to paint all the details?

Thanks team, it has been a fun kit to bring together. The details take a bit of time and imagination to paint up but worth the effort when you peer inside the windows and notice stuff in the display coolers.

The gingham checker table cloths worked out well. They are a water slide decal that is placed wet over top of a piece of tissue paper that has been wetted with diluted white glue. then drape them over top of the table and work the edges down with a dampened paint brush to get the drape correct.

For the diorama base asphalt , I used black craft foam over a styrofoam base. Then mixed up some grey paint and Hydrocal and spread a very thin layer over the foam with a paint knife and razor blade. as the hydrocal mixture starts to set up, keep troweling to get an ultra smooth finish. Once dry, you can make realistic crack by dragging the back edge of a #11 blade across the plaster to get cracks. Lastly some black pin wash in the cracks and drybrush to finish. Makes for very realistic aged asphalt. Especially when small pieces crack out of the cracks you form.

Anyways just capturing some ideas to try.

Mmmm.  Sausages.  The meat details look good enough to eat.  Structure is nice as well.
