Good morning.  Great to hear you guys had a nice visit with George and the F&SM. I'm looking forward to the pictures. I'm working on the railroad most of the day, but there may be some fall yard work, too. I have a ditch to fill where mother nature made a temporary river to get rid of all the rain this summer. I hope everyone has a great day.

Only in the summer months, is the general rule. Usually, one Saturday per month.

He would open up the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but hasn't done that since 2019. He also plans on being open the Friday of the Springfield show the end of January.

Good Morning All,

Starting off today swapping freezers between the 2 hoses then moving all the heavy stuff upstairs from the sewing room.  Luckily SIL, son, and teenage grandsons are helping today.

Daughter borrowed my truck yesterday for a couple of hours moving stuff for her stepson and reported that the temperature dash light came on a couple of times but the gauge stayed fine. Something to keep an eye on in case the thermostat is going bad.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,

I'm also glad many of you got to have an enjoyable visit to the FSM.  That was one of the highlights of my EXPO trips.  The others being a visit to Howard Zane's layout and railfanning around Altoona with John.  :D  Good times.

I'll spend some time at the workbench today to unwind.

Have a great one!

Morning,
Remember that baseball movie after walking out of that corn field with the words..."Is this Heaven" ?
Seeing the FSM in person makes you say that to yourself.

Late morning all,

I got up and decided to cut and edge the yard. It may be the last time I'll get the chance. I took my time and took several
Gatorade breaks. I have a lawn service coming to give me an estimate on doing it for the next year.

Raymo, thanks for the photo of the ex-ACL units.

I'm in the train shed now and hopefully will finish my 2021 build challenge.

Have a great day ya'll

Tom  ;D

Curt, replacing a thermostat is sufficiently simple (and cheap) that even I could do it.  Might want to do that, and then watch for the warning light.

Always great to see F&SM photos, I've been trying to see what's changed since my last visit 2 years ago.

Back down to the train room in a couple of minutes.  After laying the first wall of the stoneworks against the backdrop, I decided I needed more, so I cut out a 3 story addition, sealed and painted it.  I'll do the spongeworks paint weathering, then the bracing and cut out the windows.  I -think- I'll put a mansard roof on this, I need to figure out how I'll do the mansard...

Well Good Afternoon Folks;

F&SM was a great trip for Deb and me along with the rest of what became known as the EXPO orphans.

Today I am sitting with her at local hospital. All the testing is done; gallbladder. Now waiting for surgeon to schedule surgery which will most likely be tomorrow (healthcare does very little on weekends in the US today). So hopefully all will go well and I will get her home soon.

I was able to get the FSM #140 sawmill installed at museum layout prior to getting the call and taking Deb to ER. Hopefully I will be able finish up the scene once I get my gal home safe and sound.

Late check in as we've just got back to Minnesota. Always great to be home, but sad to be that far away from what was the biggest inspiration, adrenaline shot I've had in this hobby — George's layout, of course.

I've got a whole bunch of photos to share and will find the best way to do so over the coming days without sacrificing quality.

Enjoy your Sundays!
