Title: Railroad Related Must See Places Around Dallas
Post by: GPdemayo on October 19, 2021, 10:11:53 AM

Pegi and I will be out visiting our nephew and his family in about 3 weeks and would like some ideas relating to model railroading.

I need an idea of the places (layouts, hobby shops, prototype exhibits, etc.) to see around the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.

Thanks for the help!

Gregory,
Since my job went from Chicago to Dallas some 21 years ago...here's a few places that were taken in between 2000-2011...
1. Discount Model Trains in Addison Texas ( a great hobby shop and a must see  ) also a neat airplane museum on the airport grounds there if you like planes...
2. Museum of the American RR and Train Topia both in Frisco Texas...both were started a decade plus ago
3. In Dallas the Union Station where Amtrak stops was restored when I was down there and the Texas Northern RR Club is also near that in a industrial warehouse.
Hope this helps plan your trip.
Tommy
