Title: Wed - December 1, 2021
Post by: ReadingBob on December 01, 2021, 07:19:47 AM
Morning all,

Time's running out to get those X-Mas presents purchased and wrapped.   ;)

I squeezed in an airbrush session yesterday afternoon.  My second attempt at using Vallejo acrylics.  Once I added a little more thinner than the label suggested things went pretty well.

Have a great one!

Good morning!  Nice pic Bob.  Out for breakfast, then some grocery shopping.  Not sure what the rest of the day will bring.

Morning, all.

Bob, I've found the Vallejo air colors spray well right from the bottle (that's what they're made for).  For the Model Color, you do need to thin them quite a bit.  Here I suspect we'll finally decorate the tree (it's been up for 5 days) and maybe putter around the layout room.  One aisle is impassible from "stuff" stacked in it.  Yesterday I found a kit I didn't even know I had while taking stuff out from under the layout to haul to Goodwill.   ::)

I'm a big fan of Vallejo Airbrush Flow Enhancer, I put a couple drops in any water-based paint I'm spraying.

Hopefully I'll finish my Roman architecture project and start on the write-up.  Then I can get back to more modern (1890s) modeling.

Good Morning All,

Have the monthly grocery store odyssey this morning. Fun times. I'll probably put up the tree later today and decorate it in a couple of days. We put it up early because it comes down right after Christmas.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning! Things are a little unsettling around the S&S RR, this morning.  The Oxford High School shootings that you are hearing about on the news happened 7 miles from my house. In this crazy world we live in my daughter called me from CA to let me know what was going on.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Morning,

This pandemic is weird. I have to drive 10 hours to get my daughters cat who has a dis-located caw because she can't get an appointment with a vet in Ottawa. Then tomorrow I have to drive another two hours to get to the vet.

In a brighter note my waist size has gone from a 38" to a 36". I wonder why?

Good Morning Folks;

Hope everyone is having a great mid-week day. it is going to be a beautiful day here in Central Florida.

I too use the Flow Enhancer with the airbrush, works great in improving flow. For myself I hope to get some work done cleaning up work area today.

This evening we are off to Gainsville to stay. I am scheduled for pre-surgery testing tomorrow and Friday a team will work on diaphragm repair and improved lung function. Apparently an old injury has come back to haunt me due to age. So they will cut out part of non-functioning diaphragm, put it back where it belongs, put rest of organs back where they should be and see if they can get the non-functioning right lung to at least partially inflate and begin working again. Now if the wife was getting this done it would be most likely out-patient (she was shopping day after gallbladder was removed) but I expect it might be just a little longer for me. Gives me time to learn more on electronics and 3D printing.

Enjoy the day!

Jim,

Best wishes, thoughts and prayers headed your way for a successful outcome and minimal recovery time.

Good morning to all.

Ran out first thing for groceries and a few other stops.  Tried to pick up the Anita's galvanized tin that Tom used on the roof of his pub crawl build.  Unfortunately, my local Michaels does not carry that line of paints.  I picked up a bottle of Craftsmart "tin", and hopefully it will give me a similar result.  Fingers crossed.

Warmer today, I'll be outside for much of it.  Everyone have a safe and productive day!
