Morning all,
Two more days of work and then I'm off for the rest of the year! ;) I'll be giving the garage workbench's and shelves a deep cleaning next week. Might even open a box or two that haven't been opened since we moved here almost twenty two years ago. ::) :P

Have a great one!
Good morning Bob and everyone arriving later.
I have to make a quick run this morning to pick up two or three last minute gifts. They should wrap up my gift buying for the holiday.
After that, maybe some layout work or modeling. I replaced one switch that some of the cars dreailed on as well as one section of track that had developed a slight kink. Right now I have one more kink to do away with as well as a couple switches to install where I "forgot" to put them originally.
Pic from Dick Elwell's layout.
Everyone have a safe and productive day!

Good morning, everyone.

Morning all,
Playing, er, I mean working hard on the layout and models this fine day.
All the rain yesterday brought us a 47 degree morning today.
Have a great day.

Good Morning All,
Have a family and friends get together later so I don't know if I'll make it to the train room today. Tomorrow Dad has a VA appointment that will eat up the morning.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning. I had a DR's appointment first thing this morning and have been playing at the desk since. It's a good day for it seeing it's rainy and drab outside
Good Morning Folks;
We are somewhere in Caribbean, heading to someplace I can't spell but it is tropical. Still, coffee in hand, nice chair and view and reading about my favorite hobby. From what I am reading about the virus we may have timed this cruise right. Everyone on board is vaccinated and tested, still only matter of time the new variant makes its presence known and throws a monkey wrench (again) in the cruising industry.
The cruise has been good for me. My recent surgery took more out of me then I want to admit. All the technology in the world can't fix everything but they did their best and that will be good enough. Now to just let this beat up body work through the aches. In the meantime, here is a photo of a powerplant I used to get ideas for my own version waiting to be finished at home.
Have a great day folks

Mornin' all.....
Not much modeling today. Christmas prep takes precedent.
Tom... that photo is great........ All of that ground along Kingsbury that was cleared for the mart was a lot of old freight houses for Milwaukee and the lines that came into town on the north side of the river. My grandfather was a produce merchant on South Water Street and later west Randolph.
He talked often of not having good rail freight service across the river and the wagon and later motor trucks had to conduct a lot of it across the various bridges. He complained about the additional costs of getting things around town.
The belt lines that came along changed a lot of that when the Canal Street bridge was completed for rail service.
South Water Street was cleared in the 20's for the building of Wacker Drive. He always said that the build was a good thing as it cleared a lot of old derelict buildings. His company moved from Water Street to west Randolph around 1911 at the same time of the great re-numbering of the entire city address grid.
Again..... great photo
Thanx
Bob
