Countdown to 2022.

Good morning, everyone.  Enjoying some coffee before starting this mid-week vacation day.  After breakfast a trip to the local big box hardware store to purchase a big bag of plaster for rock molds.  I used up my last yesterday as the mountain above Old Head spirals up to the summit.

Have a happy day.

Morning All,

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday stretch...I stopped by Reading Bob's house yesterday as I was heading to work. We made a swap a while back and he agreed to finish a bunch of castings for me. It's a real joy to have handfuls of beautiful castings at hand, ready to go whenever. I'm fortunate to be at that stage in my layout, so his help is much appreciated. I'm still pondering my next MR project after recently completing the Sierra West kit...one thing I'm pretty certain about is that I will be in Tacoma in September for the NNGC - although it's probably not smart to speak about travel plans with any certainty these days.

Happy New Year...John

Good morning!  Can't believe 2022 is just around the corner.  Always great having a bunch of details ready to be put on layout for sure.  I'll be hanging a new LED shop light over one of my work areas today, then run some errands.  First, coffee.

Morning, all.

Another day today with the kids.  The boys were pretty excited to get a Brio train set for Christmas yesterday.

Good morning.

We got an inch or two of snow overnight, nothing really in the grand scheme of things.

I'll be working on the layout again part of the day today.  Wiring continues, found a problem where I added insulating joiners on the same rail on both sides of one switch.  Well, duh!!!  I need to fix that as well as a bad spot in the track where two of the modules join.  Not sure why I overlooked it when I was connecting the track between the modules, it would have been easier to do it then.

Everyone have a safe and productive day!

Good Morning All,

Not sure what's on the agenda today. A lot of it depends on the wife.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning! I'm heading out to plow snow as soon as I have a cup of coffee. I hope everyone has a great day.  The Grandkids will be giving the S&S RR a workout this afternoon.

Morning all,

Heading to Mt. Dora for a late lunch with the better half.  Workbench time this evening.

Every now and then I like to snap a picture of debris alongside the tracks to remind me of the possibilities to spice things up with minimal effort.  ;)

Morning,
Son-in-law plowed driveway yesterday in his heated enclosed cab.
Five below currently and will get really bitter cold this weekend.
Guess it could be worse...

Mornin' all............

Snowing pretty hard here in downtown Idaho.  Wave after wave.   The mountains are doing well with snow pack.  That is the water source for local agriculture and keeping the aquifers charged up.   Much of southern Idaho is a volcanic Swiss cheese and water flows under it pretty well.  So much for the geology lesson.

Going to get some bench time this afternoon.

I've been going after cleaning out the bench and stuff stored away.    I am considering parting with some of the ancient Mantua  collection of parts and early zinc/brass locomotives and cars.  This is all stuff that my dad started me out with in the early 50's.   If anyone might be interested in something let me know.  Much of this is up on display shelves and could go to a good home.

see ya
Bob
