Title: Tuesday, January 25, 2022
Post by: ReadingBob on January 25, 2022, 06:54:48 AM
Morning all,

Well, Opa George must have jinxed me.  I had to put in a call to get my A/C unit repaired.  Last night the outside unit quit running and the house was being heated by the emergency (read $$$) heat in the blower unit.  Not the first time this has happened.  Actually it's not the second, third, fourth, fifth....    >:(  We'll be replacing it in the next year of two.  It's a "Lemon"ex.  We won't be going with that brand again.

Have a great one!

Good Morning Bob and all who follow. The so-called 'emergency' heat function, Imagine a fan blowing across a toaster. So much fun, I have had that once or twice. Hope the repair bill is not too high Bob as it looks like more cold weather coming.

As for today I have a meeting at museum layout and hope to work on the DeMayo Chemical factory. Enjoy the day folks.

Good Morning All,

A bit warmer today but supposed to rain most of the day. Have some never-ending chores then train room time.

Bob we use Pro-Tech for our servicing and repairs. I'm happy with them. Years ago when we replaced our system they did it. I believe ours is from Carrier.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning! Sorry to hear about your heating/cooling system Bob. Well we got the first significant snow fall for us, yesterday. The jet stream must be changing a little - all the winter storms have been going South of us and then up the East Coast. We still have those negative numbers on the thermometer, which make plowing a real joy. ;)  Yesterday, when I was reading though Jerry's build thread I decided to go back into the F&SM archives and retrieve a few pictures that inspired me when my layout was at the benchwork stage. Here is a early picture of Franklin on the Franklin and South Manchester.

Yes, George changed direction - the two prototype builds in this picture where sold (George said the price was to good to pass up).

This is what this area looked like a few years later.

Good morning.

It is a balmy 22 degrees F here at the moment.  Amazing how warm it feels after those single digits and negative numbers.  Anyone who is jealous of how warm it is here should relax, temperatures forecast thru the weekend never rise above freezing.

Jerry, whether or not the USPS tracking lied and it was really in Tennessee, USPS somehow found my switch (after six days of it seemingly being at a facility just over an hour from my house), and tracking shows it out for delivery today.  Yea!!!

Everyone have a safe and productive day filled with modeling!

Yikes!! Sorry about that, Bob.  Our unit is an FHP (Florida Heat Pump) and this week's blower burnout was the first issue we've had with it since installation in 2008.  Wishing you a quick and inexpensive fix.
