Howdy.
We hunted down a place that served clam chowder on the way to Peabody last night. We ended up at Cracker Barrel 🤷♂️ Oh well. So it goes.
See you all at the F&SM in a few hours. I'll be the one without a camera. I travelled light this time around.
Later.
Jaime
Good morning Jaime and all of the sleep-ins. Need to run some errands this morning, then heading up to Springfield. Got a hotel to hang in tonight so it will be a short drive to the show tomorrow. Safe travels everyone who's going to the show!

Morning all,
Have fun this weekend all you FS&M and/or show attendees! I'd really like to visit the FS&M again one of these days.

Have a great one!
Morning, all.
Trip to grocery store later this morning. Hope to work on the challenge build as well. Have fun at the F&SM and show you lucky ducks.
Jeff
Good morning.
A trip to the bank this morning is on the agenda, gotta have money to pay the ol' New York state property taxes, due the 31st of the month. After making that payment, a trip to Springfield would be outa my budget, even if I wanted to fight my way there in a major snow storm. Otherwise, today is just another day in cold snowy retirement paradise.
Everyone have a safe and productive day!
Good Morning All,
Feeling better today but somehow tweaked my back yesterday. It's always something. I'm providing chauffeur services this morning for the wife and hopefully later some time in the train room.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning,
Blue skies are here.
Good morning! To all you lucky people that are at the F&SM today, I wish I was there. Jaime is at the F&SM without a camera ::) . Actually, I think it was a great move for Jaime. I have had a number of trips with my camera and two without. The pictures I have in my mind when I wasn't trying to get a good picture are the best. You need to look at George's layout the way he does to really see it. If you can only visit once, I recommend that you spend only half your time taking pictures. Wow - I really do wish I was there. I hope everyone has a great day. Safe travels for those that are attending the show and open house. From the F&SM:

Wellll..... National Weather Service says we'll get 7-11", but the data source for (Apple) Dark Sky app says 14-22" It's definitely a coastal storm, but Dark Sky says 12-19" for Springfield. The snow will be heaviest mid-day, so if I go, I'll have to dig the car out to leave.
I'll decide first thing tomorrow. It might be smart to plan to eat dinner around Springfield, to give the plows more time to clear the snow on the Mass Pike and I-95.

Passing along a big "Hey y'all!" from Tom (ACL1504). I just got off the phone with him. He sounded good and is looking forward to getting back to the workbench/layout and the forum but is not quite ready yet.

For a guy without a camera, you sure are posting a lot of photos! Thank you, Jaime!

Great news! Thank you for passing it along.
Mornin' all......
Sunny today for the first time in two weeks........... Due to the mountain range on the east side of our valley the air bunches up and we get temperature inversions; warm higher up and cold and fog on the ground. Pretty natural thing for January. We may be breaking out of it for this year.
Good news about Tom...................
Can't wait for him to get back at it.
see ya
Bob
Glad to hear Tom is doing well. Thanks for the news.
Jeff
Lol 😂
It's much easier and faster to post photos to Facebook from my iPhone than here on the forum or from a DSLR.
If you have Facebook go the FSM group. If you don't have Facebook then just hang around here for the rest of the year as I slowly trickle the photos to the daily morning posts.
Jaime.
Anyone who lets Social Media apps of any brand/form on their phones are asking for their privacy to be violated...
add: I started gluing the subroofs onto the car frames. The car ends were previously glued, clamped and then sanded flush & square. Each roof is custom-cut and carefully centered (most of the rest of the parts were cut using jigs, etc, to the same size. The roof needs to accommodate any inconsistencies in the car length.)
whine: Micro-Mark solicited product suggestions. I sent them an email with a couple of ideas. Today I saw they took one of those suggestions. Of course, I never even got an acknowledgement of my email, let alone a 'thank you.' The problem with the vortex paint stirrer, though, is that the stock top fits test tubes, but doesn't hold their own paint bottles very well. So my suggestion was to do a new shallow funnel shaped top to hold model paint bottles. p.s. vortex mixers can be found for less than Micro-Mark's price ;)

A late check in for me. Thanks for the good news on Tom. Wish I had been able to go to Springfield but from what I see on TV about the weather that's coming it is best this Florida boy is staying home.
Hope the folks that are able to make it have fun and sty safe. It looks like they are going to have a real story to share.

Jaime...THANKS for posting all those great photos of George's layout on the FSM Facebook Group today.
