Morning all.

It's one below here with a high of seven predicted.  I need to push or snow throw the two or so inches of snow we got yesterday somewhere.  Need to go to the credit union to renew a CD later today.  Otherwise a lazy day here.  Maybe some structure and/or layout work, we'll see.

Good Morning Everyone. It has been a busy week for me, working around the house and garage. Today I hope to get some modeling time this afternoon.

I discussed the state of the Forum with Rusty yesterday, things are working well except the number of vistors is not very high and few new members up until now. Ideas folks? What would you like to see? I plan to ask a number of great modelers I know join the group. Let's see if we can get the Forum back to were it was the place to go for modeling techniques and ideas.

First forecast for Springfield, could be worse:

More work on the brickworks mansard roof, today I'll work out exactly how the mansard sits on the walls (overhang, flush, etc.  Lots of variation in the prototype.)

Good morning! Winter weather (aka modeling weather) here today.  I need to plow a couple inches off the driveway later today. The rest of the day will be spent working on the railroad.  I hope everyone has a great day.

Jim,

Not sure how to get more people here. I think some are still drifting in from when Jimmy shut it down.

Dave do you really think the "WEATHER WEENIES" could make a correct forecast that far in advance????

Morning everyone

Looks to be a snow day here in South Jersey.  They predict 4 to 6 of the white stuff.
Well they'll be close we already have 3".

Looks like a lot of bench time over the weekend.

Everyone have a great day!!  ;D

Morning all. Heat wave here, 44 in beautiful downtown Rock Hill SC :)

Will be bench time today, if I can decide on how I want to proceed with the Carrick's Corner bakery structure. But will make up some cleaner and thinner for acrylics while I think on it.

Getting more people on the forum, both past members and new folks, is more a need to get the word out that it is back, I think. It appears to have come live last Nov., after over a year and a half, yet I only became aware the other day, after Jerry Beach told me.

I have posted about it on my Early Rail .io group, for what it may be worth.

Good morning.

I did get more done on the photographers studio yesterday.  I'll try to update the thread this afternoon.

It is snowing lightly here and is forecast to continue throughout the day, leaving us with a couple inches of the white stuff, assuming the forecasters guessed correctly.

I hope everyone has a great day!

I'll see your one below and raise you seventy-one.  It's currently seventy here a forecasted high of seventy-five.  The sun is shining but, aside from a quite trip to Mickey D's for lunch, I'm tied to the computer for the day.

Hope to get some workbench time in this weekend.  I'm itching to move on to a new thread/build but have to clear off what I currently have going first.

Have a great one!

Good Morning, all

White stuff falling from the sky here in Cleveland...

In response to Jim's questions;

Should the Forum be promoted at swap meets or train shows? Would this get more visitors?

Should we have a wider focus, e.g. I have been active with a preservation group for the last year, is there interest in more info about the actual prototype, both historically and in museums, rail fanning, and excursions? Reading Bob, would you like some photos of a Rambles loco that will soon return to steam?

Just some questions, IMHO the Forum does an excellent job in the topics currently active and I enjoy all the content being posted.

Afternoon All,

Started out the day with a walk at 56F and as Bob mentioned it is now in the 70's.Sunday we are scheduled to see morning lows in the mid 30's. :o

Today I finished the Lucky 7 tavern kit. I'll post pictures in my layout thread.

Word of mouth from Tom (ACL1504) got me here twice.

I hope everyone has a good day.

-4 Celsius here , just googled to find that is 24,8 F.  What is F based on , 0 deg C is the freezing temp of water, and 100 C is boiling water.

Jan, if I remember my science lessons, Fahrenheit (yes, the scale is named for him) picked 100 degrees as the temperature of the human body (he was off a little) and zero was as cold as he could get with a mix of water, ice, and salt. Celsius did his work many years later and had better instruments.

Thanks

Found this diagram , and google told me only 5 countries in the world use Fahrenheit, and Fahrenheit and Celsius lived for a great deal in the same era, Celsius was younger and died a lot younger.
