Morning, all.
I was up and ready for our Teams meeting at 0700, but I have no invite on my calendar. Instead, I'm watching other mandatory company videos. No, they don't pay me for this stuff, just more of the corporate crap. For instance, we're not a "region" we're a "market". We now have "customers" instead of "patients".
My vehicle is fixed for it's recall issues, so I'll be going to pick it up later this morning. The wife wants to go out and buy flower baskets later, maybe we'll go out to lunch as well.
Hopefully some bench time this weekend as well.
Jeff
Under some state labor laws and some federal contract rules, forcing people to watch 'mandatory' videos on their own time is illegal. But when they recast 'patients' as 'customers', it's time to leave, because that tells you what's most important about the relationship (and it's not health outcomes.)
More work on the row houses this afternoon, this morning will be taken up by minding the dogs while the cleaners are here. They passed their annual exams yesterday, although they did send some samples from a lump on Titus' chest off to the pathologist to be sure it's just 'fatty' and nothing worse.

Morning,
My supply of cinnamon buns has been refreashed.
Jeff...actually, customers doesn't sound to bad...I know of a hospital chain that refers to patients as "revenue generators'. ;-(((

Morning all.....
Morning all,
Ah, yes, mandatory training classes. I think I got one assigned to me my last week of work. I didn't complete it. ;D
Yesterday I managed to get a ticket for running a red light. Without ever leaving the house! Actually Jr. got pulled over on his way to work. The car is registered in both our names since I helped him buy it. When he got home, he noticed the ticket was written out with my birthdate and information. He has to deal with getting that corrected, paying the fine, etc.
Just gave the lawn a quick mow. Now it's time to clean up and hit the workbench.
Have a great one!
Good morning, all
Bob, a good lawyer would get that ticket thrown out...a cop who doesn't even identify the driver properly?
BTW, do you know about Reading 2100? She will soon be ready to fire!
Rollin has an interesting point. If it's a speed camera, that's one thing. Tickets there go to the car owner. But if he was actually pulled over by a real cop, he might well have a legitimate defense.

Good Morning;
I hear thunder in the distance and it is gray outside so I guess the rain is coming.
I have a little different view I guess on patient / customer issue. For better or worse health care today is big business and the insurance company and government want to limit if not remove the customer (you) from the decision making. I can't tell you the number of times I've had to ask 'what will that cost' when told I'm sorry insurance won't cover that. The assumption is if the insurance company (or medicare) won't pay you won't have it done. I have to tell them, I'm the customer, not the insurance company, your organization makes it very clear I am solely responsible for payment so what is the cost and I will determine if it is worth having done. A good example is currently happening, Deb had breast cancer 5 years ago resulting in both breasts had to be removed and replacements installed. A month ago they detected a lump on one side of left breast. Deb's General doctor had an MRI done which showed it was not moving but what it was is unknown. She said it needed to be removed and then tested since a biopsy in that area might miss it completely resulting in false results. Now comes the Medicare man and Surgeon decision board who said first they needed to do a biopsy to determine if surgery warranted. I said no, this is my wife, we will want it removed. They said, 'that is not the proper SOP'. I replied how much if I simply pay. They have yet to get back and time goes by so I have lined up a doctor friend in Toledo Ohio to set up surgery. It will be removed, As individuals we must be up to date to how the 'system' works, for large hospital organizations we are annuities, to Medicare and Insurance companies we are an expense. Knowing good people in both organizations are the only way to get the best health care you can afford.

Interesting medical discussion above. Just came back from having my ears lowered. My barber (barberess?) is a Trumper. She told me one of her customers ((patients)) makes prosthesis. He was complaining to her about payments for his services. If you are insured, you are partially covered but may still face a high deductible. If you are here without benefits, some magical government agency steps up and pays, with the taxpayers assistance, the full cost of his services. Of course, Uncle Sugar has no skin in the game: just you, me, and every other taxpayer.
Tain't fair, but that's what it is.
