Title: Tuesday August 20, 2024
Post by: jerryrbeach on August 20, 2024, 08:33:53 AM
Good morning.

Brisk 50 degree start to the day with a forecast high of 60 today.  Overcast with a potential for showers this afternoon.  Seems more like October in my little corner of upstate NY.

Today's a good day for coffee, tea, or even hot chocolate to go with the blueberry muffins I picked up yesterday.  help yourselves, don't be shy.

I'm going stir crazy with all the rain and overcast, five days and counting, with more in the forecast.  Modeling on the agenda if I can stay focused amid the depressing weather.

I hope everyone has a great and sunny day!

Off to meet my former office-mate this afternoon.  He's an O scale (standard gauge) modeler.  It was fun to share an office with a guy who shared the hobby.

Before then, some more work on the coal dock.

Morning all,

That coal dock is coming along nicely, Dave.

Morning walk completed.  Currently 86 with a high of 90 today.  Thunderstorms predicted for later this afternoon (the lawn desperately needs the water).

Not much on the agenda for today.  Think I'll head to the workbench.

Have a great one!

That's a very interesting building, Bob.  Any idea what it was used for?  Stone construction ain't cheap, and this one clearly had some decorative purpose with that slightly curved pagoda roof and the stone relief below the window.  It would make a great kit!

Afternoon check in today, hope Tom's surgery goes well, wildfire smoke here so it's hazy outdoors...an old structure in Forest Lake, MN.

That structure is located on the Horseshoe Curve.  I believe it was a combination watchman's shanty/tool shed.  Here's a shot from the other side.  The side facing the track is off limits so I couldn't get a shot of that.  The PRR, back in the day, built things to last.
