Title: Wednesday, September 4, 2024
Post by: jerryrbeach on September 04, 2024, 08:04:41 AM
Good morning.

Foggy morning again, with sun in the forecast.  It should be a great day to get the lawn mowed and catch up on some other outside chores.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Morning all.

Last day of my six day weekend.  Not sure if I'll be mowing later or not.  Still working on the road crossing on the layout.

Perfect day in SE NH, low was 49, going up to 79, bright and sunny, light breeze.

Yesterday I played 'guy with truck' for my neighbor so I didn't get down to the layout room.  But that was time well spent.  I'll make up for it today, with just one errand (local coffee roasters) on the to-do list.

Morning all,

I have a meeting this a.m. with the finance guy but, beyond that, not much else on the agenda.  ;D

The Franklin and South Manchester never fails to impress.

Have a great one!

Good morning,

It's a regular work day for me.  The temp and humidity has dropped so it's rather pleasant outside.

The drywall hanging crew showed up this morning. Hopefully they get the drywall hung and finished without issues.

Today's 1:1 train note:  The NS mainline between Knoxville and Chattanooga passes about 1.3 miles away from my house and it has an at grade crossing on the road I use 80% of the time to get to/from my house.  I get to wait in the car for trains passing by maybe once or twice per week.  Twice now I have had trains come to a complete stop and block the crossing.  If there is no one behind me I can backup and turn around to take a different/backtrack route around the train.  That got me to wondering if there are any DOT rules about trains blocking crossings.  Apparently there are no rules about this. That's all.

Today's accomplishment was the abutments on the ends of the trestle bridge.  The left side needed a triangle shape bump-out to make the bent perpendicular to track center line.

The other side was simpler:

I have to flow the scenery around these abutments.  The trestle bent is just a test fit to check out overall appearance.
