Good morning everyone
Coffee is ready.
It's a rainy day here in South Jersey.
So it might be a good day to get some time at the bench.
What's on your agenda today???
Everyone have a wonderful day!! :)

Morning all.....
Ola,
Another cloudy rainy day here. But I'm working in the basement so that's ok.
I got the baseboard installed/caulked.
This morning I started putting down the 2ft random carpet tiles. I need to cut/place the edge pieces and then I can move all the junk to the side with the carpet and start laying the carpet tiles on the other half of the room.
Many people will be aghast at the appearance of the random carpet tiles, but once the bench-work is built it really deflects the attention on the carpet. And.... 49 cents/sq ft. ;D
Doug
Morning all,
Doug, I like the carpet tiles. Did you mention where you got them, if so I missed it. Are you gluing them in place or just laying them on the concrete? As you say, once the bench work is in place it will all fit.
I need to make a run to the pool supply and then the day is mine.
Have a great day everyone.
Tom
Morning all,
Great progress, Doug! You have a lot more energy than I do.
Workbench time while watching football and racing today. Not much else on the agenda.
Have a great one!

Tom,
I purchased the carpet tile from "Caldwell Carpet" in Dalton GA. It's the same place I bought the carpet tiles in 2015 for the previous layout room in Sanford. Remarkably, they are still the same price 49 cents/sq ft as they were in 2015.
I found no need to glue/affix the tiles onto the slab. They just stay in place and I have no problem rolling chairs/etc across them.
Now I have to move all the stuff from the other side of the room so I can lay the carpet on that side. That will be on a different day. Time to be a couch tater and watch some NFL.

Doug,
Thanks very much. I see these in my future. And, a trip to Dalton, GA.

Fill and first scenic layer (dirt) added under the bridge. The white styrene pieces are those 'plugs' that I'll remove to let the trestle bents look buried in the ground.

I might do static grass (long & scraggly) around the entire trestle scene, but I need to do that before I glue the bents into position.
