Title: January 7, 2025
Post by: ACL1504 on January 07, 2025, 08:18:46 AM
Morning all,

This morning for breakfast we have cheesy scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and grits. Bagel and cream cheese and drinks on the end.

Pam has bowling today and I'm going to watch. Still can't like anything over 5 lbs. Late lunch with friends later.

Hopefully I can update my challenge thread this afternoon.

Have a great day ya'll.

Good morning Tom and everyone checking in later.

Low teens this morning in my little corner of upstate NY with wind chills in the negative numbers.  Forecast is for a high temperature still in the teens.  Brr!

I'm planning to stay inside as much as possible today.  Imagine that!

I hope everyone has a safe, warm, and rewarding day!

Good Morning All,

Thanks for opening and breakfast Tom.

Started out with a walk at a feel like temp of 34F. Brrrrrrrrr.......

Not sure what's happening today but the train room will be involved.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning Crew and ACL1504, Tom thanks for the opening. I will stick to my diet Dr Pepper but I will grab some of the sausages and grits in about an hour.

Weather in So. Central Wisconsin will be nice. A comfortable +7f degrees because of no wind is leading us into the mid20's this afternoon. The 2 mile walk this morning was done in the darkness of the neighborhood and it was a nice 40 minute walk. We have zero snowcover

My explorations around the MF continue. Is the screen picture in the menu next to the YouTube icon the only way to post a picture using the URL within this posting? I have added pictures to my gallery but I would like to post a picture here. Yep, I have read the sticky on how to post pictures

Have a great day
TomO

Curt, a Midwesterner would love 34f and probably would walk around in a hoodie! The regional differences...

Tom,

Quick question.  Are you trying to post your photos on the "Quick Reply"?  That might be your issue as you have to use the "Reply" button at the bottom of the post to post photos.  HTH.

Tom,

If you click on a photo in the gallery, you should get a list of code options. If you copy the one with the
"[img" at the beginning and paste that in your post, it should populate the photo from the gallery.

Hope that answers your question,
Matt

It's 19, up from 15, but with winds gusting up to 35mph.  So that makes it chilly.  The one dog needed her coat (the other one has a thicker (natural) coat and is less sensitive to the cold.)  Today's task will be to cut the floor for the Lamson main mill building and glue that into place.  Once that's done, the building should be really sturdy.

Jerry and Matt, thank you. Matt I will try that...

Jerry! In the quick reply window I do not find a reply box. Just a preview box and to the right of it a post box/button.

After posting here in the Baggage Car I went over to the Reference page. While typing my request for Northwest paper mill pictures and that reply button was there along with a Drag your files here. That easily allowed posting a picture.

I will try Matt's way and see how that works or does the baggage car not allow picture posting.

I truly appreciate the quick help from you both

Morning all,

Curt, you're a better man than I.  I cancelled my walk this morning due to the cool temperatures (I know the guy's up North are laughing at me).

Tip for everyone regarding posting/lost posts.  When you click Post watch for a response that indicates someone else posted a reply while you were creating yours.  It's a red message.  You have to click Post again when that happens else your post will be lost.

I need to run to Home Depot at lunch.  Other than that, the day is mine.  Back to the workbench!

Have a great one!

This is what a picture posted using the [img link from the Gallery, that Matt referred to, looks like in a thread.

Good morning, all.  20s, partly cloudy and windy on the NH Seacoast.  I'm doing Internet stuff this morning, then a couple of errands. Mostly model RR this afternoon and evening.

Hi Bernd, I'm about twenty minutes east of Syracuse, NY. Living in that area I assume you're familiar with Wegmans; I worked for them for forty years before retiring.

Good afternoon to all.

I received a couple of the new NizTrainz Power Bridge, 3 wire Stay-Alives yesterday. These are a "clone" of the ESU 3 wire keep alives at a cheaper price.

Got some real life work to do for several days so no work on the layout.

Found out at post office yesterday that there is a "temporary" price increase on shipping. The clerk said look for it to become permanent soon. Shipping that was $9.80 now costs me $12.60. Oh well.

Its colder than usual here in west Texas. Electric bill will reflect lower temps in higher dollars I'm sure.

Everyone have a great day.......John

The wife and I go to Syracuse to head north on I-81 to Alexandria Bay. We have a cottage up there and we're up there pretty much during the warmer months of the year.

Nice to see another New Yorker on the forum.

Good Evening Folks;

Sorry for the late check in, I imagine the coffee has gone cold so the wife has a pot of tea going. Chilly night coming for Central Florida, 20's I hear. Today I had to do a lot of 1:1 work so no modeling. Perhaps I will slip out to garage later to work at the bench. I have been keeping up with the site improvement ideas and will work with Craig to see what he thinks can be done. It is great to have ideas and the sharing of projects increasing. Thanks!

Hey Larry.....Pegi's brother took us to the Wegmans in Princeton and we had the best time.....it is the most amazing grocery store we have ever been in. The selections were beyond belief in the biggest store we had ever seen.

Could you possibly get them to open one of their stores down here? The best we have is Publix and compared to Wegmans, it is more of a 7/11 store.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..... :)
