Title: Wednesday.....January 8, 2025
Post by: GPdemayo on January 08, 2025, 07:46:02 AM
Morning all.....western omelet, sausage paddies, home fries or grits, choice of muffin or toast and a large Florida OJ on the menu. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate (for those up north in the colder area of  the country) on the side bar.

Nothing going on with the choo choo's, but an interesting project to work on at an airport up in the panhandle.....y'all have a great day!

That's it, my fingers are telling me it's time to quit typing.  :)

Morning all,

OMG, the world is going to end today. Greg has opened the doors said more than "Morning all" and offered breakfast as well. I'm just going to eat all I can since he is paying - a true rarity.   ???

I'll be working on the Winter Challenge today and do a little reading.

Have a great day everyone and stay warm and healthy.

Tom

Morning all.

Tiring day at work yesterday, slept in today.  Nothing planned for hump day, we'll see if I get back to the FSM kit.

Good Morning All,

I was shocked to see Greg verbalizing so much today!

Have to set in for a medical phone appointment with Dad in a couple of minutes. Not much else going on today, but I'm sure MOH has other plans. ::)

Is there a way to comment on a post without having to include a repeat of the post in question?

I hope everyone has a good day.

Still chilly here in SE NH, it was 15 when I took the dogs out, but with 20+mph winds.  My PT session is early today, so I should spend most of the afternoon working on Lamsons.  The floor is installed, and the result is rock solid.  So now it's time to think about the tower and the roof.  The kit has a 2 story wood top on the tower, I'll look at that to decide if I want to use the kit parts or do something different.

Good morning. If it's free I don't care how it's getting paid for! Greg thanks for opening, good morning to you and all that will gather here.

So. Central Wisconsin from inside the windows looks very nice now that the yellow orb is exposed. The temperature has risen to +6f degrees and heading to low 20's. I couldn't sleep at 4, got out of bed at 4:40 and at 5 started operating in the papermill. I just couldn't sleep and I usually don't operate till the afternoon. Yep, my day is a mess.

The 2-3 mile walk today will be on the machine that goes no where or I'm actually feeling like this is a great day to skip the walk! I'm lost as I know I'm going to crash for a nap, just don't know when. Maybe when sleeping beauty wakes we head out for a brunch treat!

I need time at the bench as I have to fix some weathering I did but added too much orange rust.

Enjoy the day

Morning all,

25 degrees here this morning. High forecast is low 30s.  White fluffy stuff falling very slowly, no accumulation.

Worked on lower level benchwork yesterday evening.

PS: Here's a photo just after sunset looking west. That's Watts Bar Nuke plant's steam plume off in the distance.

Good morning.   What happened to Greg?

Tom & Doug,     Thanks for the photos this morning.

Teens here with a zero wind chill, not nice to be outside with the wind gusting...  Finished up a couple freight cars yesterday and put them on the layout.  Planning to work on a couple more today.

I hope everyone has a safe, warm and productive day!

Cold, teens, and grey as can be this morning, a bit of dusting in the air. No big snow here. Nothing like the fire hurricane out on the West coast.  Frightening images from there this morning.  100 mph winds.

Nice sounding breakfast Greg.  They're always best when free!  ;D

Some things on the bench to work on as well as the layout.  No plans to go out, too far, today.

Curious...this was my first post without the security screening, when I did the POST operation I was taken to the overall menu/list rather than back to the thread here.  Is that normal? Is there a way to return to where I was in the day's post in Baggage Car when I post my reply?  Thanks...

Morning Gents from a windy and cold New York; it's 16 with a high of 20 here. Had some early errands and maybe some modeling time shortly. This afternoon the driveway needs to cleaned out yet again. Greg thanks for opening and breakfast.

Not sure how things work here so I thought I'd ask. I have my layout thread started but since most of my structures are scratch built, should I do the builds in that section then show the final pics in my layout thread? Thanks in advance.

Tom nice weathering and Doug nice photo. Have a great day. Keep warm and be well.

Morning all,

Dang!  I went out for breakfast.  Had I known Greg was providing one I wouldn't have passed up that opportunity.

I don't think that's normal.  It should return to the thread you're posting a Reply to.  Did you do a Reply or a Quick Reply?  I usually use the Reply option so I'm not sure how the Quick Reply responds to things.

Still painting detail castings, but the end is in sight.  Hopefully I can get back to gluing things together soon.  ;)

Good morning Crew! Learning to crawl here.

An On30 bash that started as an HO 2-6-0 BM Prairie. Nose was an old Alco C415 hood. Printing a few items here and there. Trying to close in on proportions.

Thanks for the grub!

Morning All!

Wow...Greg's quite the blabbermouth today  ;D  but that Western Omelette sure sounds good

One more weekend of visitors and I promise I'll get rolling. I've decided to build one more module to make an L-shape and then I'll get serious about track planning & actually building a model railroad again. I've got great concepts, scenes, construction methods, and priorities in my head...so I'd like to think that once I 'break the seal', progress will come fast.

Stay warm and have a great day!

Good morning, all.  Dave and I usually share the same weather (he's about 20 miles N and farther inland).  I've done some town business this AM and read the news. Really glad the cold wind is keeping the usual suspects indoors; We've had a drought since late summer and any fires today would go almost as fast as around LA.  Time to turn this off; happy modeling!

Hi Karl;

Nope that is not suppose to happen. Let me know if you continue to have that issue, I suspect it was just a momentary computer hiccup but who knows.

Hi Larry;

Usually the individual builds are posted in that type of project area, in this case scratch build structures, then the complete pictures can be shown of in your layout thread. So, that is a long winded way to say yep, your idea works great!

Another late check in for me. Guess I am just speechless that Mr. DeMayo opened the clubhouse today, will wonders never cease  ;D. Thought I would show a picture of the bridge I am CAD designing hoping to print out on 3D printer. It will be a while. Hope everyone stays warm today.

Jim thanks for answering my question; I thought after going thru the forum that would be the best approach. That lift bridge will be quite the 3D project, Good luck and have fun.

That bridge would make for one heck of project in brass. One of my favorite materials. I love shinny objects. :)

Jim, I have 2 dated Elegoo 1st gen Mars that I love because of the simplicity. I'll upgrade when they quit. I have been printing four or five years. Your project is huge!

The On30 Davenport was re-geared and refreshed this week and the directional horns were printed today, They are tiny. So tiny I may just order some robust ones from PSC. I still need to fashion a fuel tank of some sort for the red, white, and blue beast.
