Title: Monday, Jan 14th
Post by: PRR Modeler on January 13, 2025, 08:18:44 AM
Good Morning All,

Currently 55F and gray in Central FL with rain forecast for later.

Today I have the usual chores then I want to ship Dad's trains off to his brother. Right now they are sitting in the middle of the train room floor. :-X  Dad also wants to go to Sam's Club for some reason. I hope I make it to the train room today. Fingers crossed.

I hope everyone has a good day.

200 with about 20 mph winds, light dry powdery snow will be an all day annoyance.  Headed out to an OPS session shortly.  I wish I'd parked outside so I could preheat the trck.

Everyone enjoy the day.  Be safe.

Morning all.

It's 6 degrees F here this morning.  Fortunately, with an electric vehicle, I can preheat it in the garage.   :)  I have a trip to the dentist this morning and if I live through that the rest of the day is unplanned.  I've cleaned off the bench and can see the FSM kit in it's state of incompletion.  Will I get back to it today?

Sunny and warmer in SE NH.  Highs today in the mid '30s.  There's a crew replacing the shingles in a neighbor's house.  First they had to sweep the snow off the shingles before stripping them.   I'll get some shop time in between German class at the senior center (we're reading/translating an abbreviated/simplified version of "Journey to the Center of the Earth") and PT later this afternoon.  I've also been doing research into elevators, turns out they were much more common in the 19th century than I thought.  There's a transition from steam power to electrical power late in the 19th century (no surprises there.)  But it looks like I should add some big pulleys to the visible area of the tower.

Good morning from cold at +5f actual degrees So Central Wi. Heading to 18 this afternoon. The sun is bright and the wind is slight. The "real feel" temperature because of the winds will stay below -2 all day. Our warming starts Thursday per the app!

Today is mainly in the train room. At 3 the car dealer will be here with one of 3 cars I will test drive over the next 3 days. I've decided to buy a car before the tariffs kick in or the prices just go up because they can...

I want a smaller SUV but Terry does not, she wants a car

Enjoy the day

Morning crew.

Cloudy and in the 30's here in Western New York. We live in between the Lake Erie and Lake Ontario snow bands So we're getting just a dusting. Just got back from getting gas. !/2 a tank at $40. Wonder if the price will come down in the next several months.

I picked up three items at the Batavia Train Show yesterday.

Four HOn3 turnouts for my mining portion of the to be layout.

A Sheepscot Scales Product wooden derrick and clam bucket for the HOn30 quarry line.

And more road power for the standard gauge line, an RSD 4/5 Alco Models product. Runs pretty good too.

Good morning everyone from a snowy New York with a high of 37; maybe a trace-2 inches so they say.

Have a question: now that there is an O scale narrow gauge section in the "roundhouse", should ANYTHING in that scale go in there?

Have a great and safe day!!

Bernd, I think the cops may be coming to visit to talk to you about those "thefts" from the train show!!

I found some elevator manufacturer catalogs on Archive.org so I now have an idea of what to put in the 'attic' of the Lamson mill tower.
