Title: Wintery Mix Sunday
Post by: deemery on February 16, 2025, 09:03:08 AM
Well, the weather predictions that said "snow turns to freezing rain by 8:00 AM" were correct, unfortunately.  Looks like we'll get rain/freezing rain/sleet for the rest of the day, maybe turning to snow in the evening.  Ugh.  I'd rather have the originally predicted 14" of snow...   But the big problem comes tonight and tomorrow, when the winds pick up.   Enough about the weather!

Today's plan is for more work on the Ambroid passenger car.  Yesterday I cut/carved a template for cutting the oval windows from a piece of styrene.  Today I'll cut some more siding and use that template to see if I can get a better looking oval.  And I'll mount the scribed siding to the bottom of the other car side, add the fascia board there, and start work on the pieces between the windows.

Morning Dave and others,

Dave I'm very happy to just cleaning leaves out of the pool this morning vs. what you are experiencing.

I'm in the train shed working on the build challenge.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,

Showers predicted for today. Figures, the Daytona 500 is today (we're roughly 45 miles West of Daytona). Nothing like rain delays for the big race.

More work on the background flats this afternoon.  First one is coming together.

Have a great one!

Working on the roof on the FSM kit today.  Hope I get something accomplished.

Good morning.  It's a rainy day in this corner of Virginia.  Good weather to go to the train club.

Good morning folks,

Dave, thanks for opening.

It's a partly cloudy morning after a night of wind, rain, and tornados.  We escaped with no damage.  High only 57F, 29F tonight.

Have fun,
mike

Good morning, all. We all just got back in from clearing maybe 7" of snow before it got soaked.  It's 33F now, but anything we didn't move will be frozen solid in 24 hours.  No general melting in the forecast for a week but sun may take care of the icy debris on the driveway Monday.

We're staying home today, and I'll get some layout time after lunch.

2-3" of new stuff here with wind 17, gusts to 35. Still snowing a lite bit at times.

Will watch the race, IF, the weather holds there.  Traveled there once in early 90s, a quick left MI on Friday, drove to Macon, GA, then Sat to St Augustine, was 820 Sunday race was in 70s, headed N right from the track, drove to No GA then home mid afternoon Monday. 3 of us in a Mazda 323 Matchbook car.  The 1 1/2 day of warm made the rest of the spring drag out seemingly forever.  ::) It's the one race I still try to watch, the others, rarely watched.  Ate mostly at Cracker Barrel's until an error in judgement led us to a White Castle in the Indianapolis area...

Some layout infrastructure work gaining some of my attention today as well.

Hope everyone has a good day.
