Title: Oil spur on the Rock Island
Post by: cduckworth on March 01, 2025, 09:17:12 AM
The prototype oil spur on the Rick Island had a Shell, Sinclair and Mobil dealers. I scratch built the Shell and Mobil dealers buildings. The Sinclair is the AMB building.

Switching that oil spur with 3 different dealers must have been a pain-in-the-butt for the train crew.  It's fun to model the 3 different dealers, each with a characteristic paint scheme.  (Don't forget to keep the documentation handy when someone tells you "3 different companies on the same spur isn't prototypical."...)

Excellent modeling.

Where most modelers have one dealer, you have three to match the prototype.  The Result looks very real.

cduck,

Welcome to the forum. The two scratch built structures look great. Great scene and modeling.

Howdy Charlie,

Nice models that are well done.  I especially like the Mobil Gas spur.

Have fun,
