Guess I'm doing this retirement thing all wrong, there's been entirely too many time for me to open up the place ;D
Morning all,
I can't wait to do that retirement thing. Less than a year (I hope).
It will be sunny and 68 degrees later. I have mowing to do today, some other cleaning/washing tomorrow when it's supposed to break 80!
Jeff
Frost this morning but totally blue sky 8) and some warmup today. We had a good ops session yesterday and the bs was professional grade ;D
At the bench early and now off with the Doll on errands.
Be well all.

Good luck with the retirement planning Jeff, it will be here before you know it and seem to take forever. :o
Good morning Chris, Jeff & Karl. 50s on the NH seacoast, mostly cloudy since sunrise. A little rain earlier but now I can move the chicken food outside. Not going to make it to the Hooksett NH train show. Morning went to trolley museum planning, after lunch I'll head for the attic layout.
Good morning everyone.
Another gray overcast day here on the Oregon coast.
A hike along the coast planned for today.
have a great day everyone.
Good Morning Folks;

On my second cup of coffee this morning and getting ready for some yard work. I had the Flour Mill structure judged for merit in the NMRA AP Structures category this past week. I am working on completing the requirements for this category since I have been trying to improve my modeling and going through this process helps me gauge my progress and also points out areas needing improvement. I put a lot of time and thought into this structure so was hoping for a rating of 100 out of 125 points. My last effort had produced a disappointing 93, which while passing really showed where I needed to improve my game. I had a very pleasant surprise when the Mill received a 114 score, the highest I have ever received. Made my day. Looks like I took to heart the suggestions for improving my modeling. I know at my age awards really don't mean as much as when I was younger but it still gave me an emotional boost knowing if I apply myself I can still get better at what I do.
Well back to real world, trimming the palm trees out back. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Jim
Congratulations, Jim!
Structures is an AP Certificate on my To Do list; I have one Merit Award; a styrene station scratchbuild. But my layout priority is a dozen or two 50-70 point scratch builds and kit-bashes.
Morning all.....well done Jim. 8)
It's almost noon, so good afternoon. My wife is feeling better after falling and bruising her ribs. She wanted to go out to eat this morning. I had a "Moldovan Breakfast" - a meat lover's dream (pulled pork, sausage, bacon, eggs on polenta.) Today's honey-do project is to take stuff out of the fridge and thoroughly clean it. It's cool enough we can put stuff on the back porch while doing the cleaning.
Then it'll be back to the Lamson warehouse.

Afternoon all,
The yard work is finished, Pam is in the pool and I'm fixin to work on the Merchant's Row stuff.
Jim, congrats on the mill rating.
Have a great day ya'll.

I'm back, after extended travel which included planes, trains, busses, cars, taxis, ships and subways. I've been busy with yard work and administrative work (over a month's mail). I did make stop by the train club today, while out running errands.
The Thunderbirds are putting on a show at Langley AFB this weekend. We can hear them, but we're not under the show route, so we can't see them.
Congratulations, Jim. That's a good-looking mill.
George
Welcome back, George! Post some photos from your trip when convenient.
