Title: Sunday June 29, 2025
Post by: Raymo on June 29, 2025, 09:15:46 AM
Morning. Just a quiet morning here in the Merrimack Valley. Sunday morning chores are about half done, might try to do a little mowing later. Another newer addition to the F&SM replacing a garage at this spot

Morning all,

Another great picture, Raymo! Thanks.

We went through the drive up lane at Panera this morning where we were treated to our a free breakfast courtesy of the driver in front of us who had paid for our order. Nice way to start a pleasant Sunday.

I hope to spend some quality time at the workbench this afternoon.

Have a great one!

Raymo forgot to mention the weather, which is worth mentioning.  At 10:00, it's 73 on the way to 82.  Humidity is OK.  Sun with puffy clouds.  All-in-all, looks to be a nice day.

I'll work some more on the machine mill line shaft design.  Yesterday I sorted through my collection of parts, today I need to figure out how to make the best use of what I have on hand.  I should have enough shifters, and I have just enough cone pulleys.  Those cast parts will need some clean-up and then painting before assembly.

Good morning, all. Dave reports my weather except it's overcast enough right now there are no shadows outside my window.

Question: Where should I put content about supporting, constructing and detailing track?  New thread under Modeling Wizardry?  Extend BandOGuy's 2020 "Track questions" thread under Super Detailing? Dennis Bourey's "Nails or Glue for Roadbed" thread is there, as is Polux's 2017 "Railways & sleepers...?" thread.

G'day Raymo, ET Al ... another fine scene!

Woke to the rumble of thunder this morning and rolled over for a few more Xs & Zs >:(
Eventually up to find the girls watching Sherlock Holmes on the new entertainment center. A nice addition for the place.

Weather is cloudy, bright, mid 60s going to 70ish.

The trip to Marquette was enjoyable.

Lazy day for me today.

Be well everyone.

A new thread, and probably Super Detailing I would think...

Good Morning;

James I agree with Dave why not a new thread in Super detailing? Look forward to seeing what you share no matter where you place it. Dan thanks for the photo. I really enjoyed visiting the FS&M layout an can't believe it was so many years past already.

Here in central Florida another. lazy hazy day. I am going to finish up some chores and make time to visit the workbench today. The wife's padding boat club (dragon boat racers) is helping a local food charity with a food drive at local Publix and she is one of organizers. They brought one of their canoe boats to the Publix entrance and were hoping to fill it with staple foods for the charity to use for poor retired folks. So far they have filled it twice and had to get a U-haul truck to carry it all. That was day one. Looks like they will fill it another two times today. Americans are not shy about giving they just want to make sure their donation is going to where they were told it was going.

I married an amazing woman and I know it! Have a great day.

Jim,

I agree, The Boss is one fine lady. I also hit the wife lottery some 36 years ago.

Congratulations to the boat crew.

Good afternoon.  I've been doing chores and running errands (beer run).  I need to sit down at the bench and do the brake details on an old Varny boxcar this afternoon.

Congratulations to your wife and team, Jim.  It sounds like they are having a very successful weekend.

Afternoon all,

Late check in today.  Slept really late this morning.  Took a 2.75 mile walk in the 90 plus degree heat.  I'm now watching the pathetic Red Sox ball game.  Will continue work on the FSM kit in a few minutes.
