Post by: ACL1504 on July 08, 2025, 09:13:17 AM
Morning all,

Well, we are half way through 2025. Time sure flies at my age.

Pam and I will do some practice bowling today and then meet friends for a late lunch/early dinner.

Have a great day ya'll.

Looking at Raymo's lead photo from yesterday gave me a thought.  -If- I get to the point of running a passenger train, I think I'll add a drumhead sign on the rear car for "The 19th Century Limited".  :)

Still hot and muggy, basement is getting warm (it goes from about 62 in the winter to 75 in the summer.)

2 spoiled dogs, the one in the back is the one that had the teeth pulled last week:

Good morning, Tom, Dave and crew.  We're heading to the upper 90's with matching humidity here in Tidewater Virginia.  After a haircut, I'll be indoors at the computer and workbench.

The Vortex paint mixer is on sale today, Amazon Prime:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CZ3TQXCM $71, usually $91.  I got one after reading a review and subsequent discussion, and I really like this.  It'll hold paints from the small 17ml Vallejo bottles to a full size spray can (although it's a bit unsturdy with a tall paint can.)   No connection (I've stripped off all the Amazon affinity links from the website where I read about this.)

670 and rain on the deck looking out on Lake Michigan.

Just back from town, refuse station, fuel @$3.179 and TP and soap at the $ store. A little thunder and rain as we were close to the Little Harbor corner. Radar shows maybe an hour or two of rain.

Kids are all gone it's quiet.

Everyone enjoy the day whatever it brings you.

Good evening, all. Hotter than Tophet at Seashore today, where we inspected a couple of sidings in need of maintenance and started organizing our switch timber inventory (nothing at all like the egg carton I use for HO scale switch timbers). We heard thunder but the storms went out to sea north of us.

It's pretty much dark in the lower Merrimack Valley now, with fog forecast as the sea breeze cools us off. Chance of showers around midnight, then more fog through the night. But I'm very pleased with tonight's 68 vs. last night's 78.
