I'm pretty sure it's Wednesday...I am pretty jet-lagged after a trip to Switzerland and a little bit of Italy, followed by delayed and cancelled flights, capped off by lost luggage...still an epic trip.
The Swiss train trips were beyond amazing. Makes me want to rip up everything and build a simple Z scale Glacier Express layout with 6' high mountains, lacy catenary, tunnels, snowsheds, and soaring viaducts above icy glacial rivers fed by towering waterfalls...the whole place really looks like you're in a model railroad...honestly, a toylike one that many of us might critique for it's "fantasy cartoonish" scenery ;D
Trains everywhere, along with lots of fascinating MOW equipment and facilities to support the vast network.
HIGHLY recommend it for any train enthusiast.
Now, I need to catch up on things and turn my attention to my bare layout.
It sounds like a wonderful experience.
. Hazy bright in MIchigan's UP. High winds leading to severely dangerous waves on the beaches today. 670 going to 750 later. Back home in S Mi it's going into the DANGER Zone for a couple days (Florida weather) :D
Off to an estate sale this morning. The Doll is excited :0
Sure sounds like a neat trip, Cuse.
Be well all

And in Switzerland, the trains run on time.... The problem with Switzerland is there are NO bargains (with the exception of a SwissRail pass.) Everything was consistently expensive. We were there on a combination vacation/computer conference where I was presenting a paper. At the end of the conference, they awarded me "Best Paper" and handed me an envelope with 1500 CHF. That helped pay for the trip!
It's our last pleasant day before the heat and humidity build up later today. I didn't get much done yesterday, but I hope to make some progress today.

Good morning. I've been doing some morning yardwork to beat the heat.
Switzerland is my favorite part of the world. I agree with you, Dave, it's pricy. I don't agree on the trains. I was on one that was running 15 minutes late and missed a connection. Of course there was another train in an hour.

Morning all,
While everyone was traveling, I was working in the yard. Hot, muggy and humid for today here.
Have a great day ya'll.
Tom
Morning all,
Glad to hear you had a great trip, John.
I finally got back to the workbench yesterday and made some progress on the Gunsmith shop. Hoping for more of the same after lunch.
Have a great one!
