Title: Friday, August 15, 2025

Morning all,

Seventy one degrees here headed to 90s for today and the weekend.  I think I'll stay in and do the elliptical versus an outside walk.

Hope to continue detail painting as well as some figures.  I got a new "wet palette" as it's supposed to help keep the paint wet and eases thinning.  We'll see how it works.

I also recently acquired a brass 4-8-4 which needs some lubrication, hope to get to that as well.

Here's a "Spooky" gunship converted C-47.

Good morning, Jeff and crew. We're headed to the mid 80's.  I have a bunch of errands up run this morning.  I hope to finish my club project this afternoon.

I've seen that Gooney Bird in action and wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of their fury.

Sun and warm headed to hot in Michigan today. Storms late tonight into the weekend are a chance.

Some schools are starting next week in this area. Probably where most of you are as well

Weekend looks like laying low. PT this afternoon. Maybe some layout work or a dcc project.  :)

Be well all.

Good afternoon (barely), all. The NH seacoast is pleasant today, sunny, light breezes and rising from the high 60s to the high 70s. I've been doing paper/computer work this morning, which just brought me to renewing Railroad Model Craftsman.  I recall Carstens offering multi-year subscriptions but White River has only ever offered year by year.

Afternoon all,

I have never heard of a "wet palette", Jeff. Keep us posted on how it works for you.

93 right now and a tad bit humid. I skipped the walk this a.m. Even going out at 7 a.m. I can work up quite a sweat until I get back home.

Off to the workbench.

Have a great one!

Good afternoon, All!

As has been mentioned, it's hot here in the northern mitten, and with the temps now over 90 and the humdiddy running around 40%, it qualifies as a "scotcha" where I grew up outside Boston.  Bleah!  Lots of admin, mostly done, and working through issues related to selling the store building later this year.  Bleah!

Oh, and the Good News is Good!!  I just turned 77, and can therefore treat myself to a doughnut and some ice cream today!  Oh, to be young again and tying into Mom's chocolate birthday cakes!

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Pete, there was a great set of posts on LinkedIn by a retired P-3 Tactical Coordinator (TACCO) on a mission chasing a Soviet Diesel boat that got too close to a carrier group.  It was a great explanation of what actually goes on in a P-3 mission.
