Title: Sunday, August 17, 2025

Morning all,

Headed to low 90s again today.  I did get some new spray to get rid of the stingers.  They are yellow jackets.  Sprayed last night.  Did see one buzzing around this morning when I sprayed the hole again.  Will probably try some gap filling foam on the hole later today.

I fixed the tender on the locomotive as something on the rear truck was below rail height, so I bent it clear.  Also had a dragging chain from one of the trucks which I removed.  It still has issues stalling, I suspect on the loco, will need to clean the wheels and look to see if there's something shorting somewhere.

Here's a C-121 Constellation that was used by MacArthur as his personal transport.

Good morning everyone.

Sunny and low 80's here in Spokane.

Jeff, thanks for another cool plane photo.

I don't have anything planned for today.

Have a great day everyone.

Hard to imagine the Lockheed Connie is nearly 80 year old design tech. I'm told I traveled in one as a very young child.

In and out sun in Michigan today. After a walk in the humidity this morning I felt damp upon returning home.

Daughter and grand daughter are visiting with the Doll today. Always miles of smiles.

Little planned for now.

Later y'all.

Much warmer and more humid than yesterday, but a cold front moving through tonight, so this won't last.

Last night's Scotch Club was sparked by a news report that a sprinkler failure in a NH Liquor Commission caused them to have to destroy a lot of high end booze, including some bottles of Macallan 18.  So our Laird o'the Malts brought out his Macallan 18, and we compared that to some other stuff, including a different Macallan, and some stuff he liked better.  And we all agreed we'd be happy to drink a bottle of Macallan 18 that got water-soaked...

Back down to the train room in a couple of minutes.  I'll hook up a 1k resistor to my lighting circuit, then 'crank up the power' to make sure it still works.  Then I'll let the LEDs just 'burn in' for a couple hours in case one decides to fail.

Good afternoon.  We're having another day in the mid 80's.  I've been cutting some interior bracing on the Cricut cutter.  When looking for a suitable material, I found some heavy card stock that was the backing on a pad of Bristol board.  It's sturdy and going to work fine.

Nice picture, Jeff. I love the lines of the old Connie.

Good afternoon, all.  I've been out cleaning up the barns for Tuesday's trash & recycling. Grain bags, an oil leak from my tractor, other debris.  My weather is Dave's but in shade with a sea breeze coming in the doors wasn't bad.  Looking over the Forum before cooking my dinner.
