Hang it up drag the boat out of the water, it's over...Summer is kaput all the brats are headed back to indoctrination classes. The tourist traps will be full of silver hairs and sensible shoes. Frost, color changes and fall harvests will soon be along.
Weather here in the mitten state is exceptionally nice this morning the high blue and calm skies. Great day for finding a shade tree and a jug of apple cider and donuts ;)

Morning all,
Off to Home Depot (first of potentially two trips today) to see if they have a special tool, that I need to pull a cartridge from a Moen faucet. If they do, and I can successfully pull it out then I'll have to return later to find a matching cartridge to replace it with. Dripping faucets are annoying.
This afternoon I'll pop in a movie and spend some time at the workbench.

Good morning Karl and all who stop by. The coffee pot is on and working on my second cup of coffee. My bride was at it early this morning so I helped mop the floors and pick up the house. Her sister is visiting this week so we need the house to look pretty I guess. Personally I wonder if it is overdone just a bit since once she is here I won't see either of them except at night. So many stores, so little time!
The cool(er) weather has even made it to Central Florida. high today should be 81 a good 10 degrees cooler than yesterday. Still not like upper Michigan. It is getting to be my favorite time of year up north. Growing up in a village outside Rochester NY this was sweet corn and white hotdog season. Leaves changing, crappie and walleye catching and nights around the campfire watching the lighting bugs in the backyard of our lake cabin. I went back a couple years ago to visit, our cabin is long gone but here is a picture that gives the idea of the lake and area.

Just had an odd thought, do us retired folks celebrate Labor Day?
Good afternoon. I started my Labor Day celebrations with a walk, a trip to the club and then some chores. I think I'll finish up with some bench time cutting sryrene.

Well, many people who are still working have to do yard work, etc, on Labor Day. So us retired folks get to actually take the day off, and do the yard work the rest of the week (of Saturdays.)
That being said, a neighbor rented a lawn aerator machine, and I borrowed it for about 20 minutes to do a patch in my yard where even crabgrass won't grow. Tomorrow I'll buy some fresh grass seed and dirt, etc, and try to reseed that part of the lawn.
