Nice. I'll be following your build with interest.
Jeff
Quite a step up from Keep It Rusty's Old Boiler House, this should be fun, thanks for posting your build. Mark
Curt,
I will be following along too.
Is this kit the HO or O scale version?
Rich
Curt, glad you got the kit.
Hope you have many happy hours building it.
I'll be watching.
Curt looks like this one will be worth the wait. I'm grabbing a seat to watch you have a ball building this.
Question: Is this just the foundry building or does it include the work room and office; just curious.
Looking forward to the build Curt.
Jerry
Great kit. I'll be watching on, Curt.
Cheers, Mark.
I will be following along,
Wow Curt, the kit is amazing. Congrats for finally receiving it. I can't wait for your build thread. Have fun, mike
Afternoon All,
Thank you for following along and your kind comments Greg, Eric, Jeff, Mark, Rich, Rick, Larry, Jerry, Mark D., John, and Mike.
Rich the kit is HO.
Larry it's the entire setup.
Since the initial post until today has been spent coloring the wood for the pattern shop. A very tedious endeavor.
Today I attached the individual boards to the first of the Pattern shop walls. Of course the openings still need trimmed.

I did a small foundry from an old EL Moore design. So I'll be interested to see how this comes together. I did put a 'fireplace light' module into the foundry fire.

Afternoon All,
Thank you Terry, Larry, Jerry, Rick, Philip, Eric and Dave for following along and your nice comments.
Dave That's a nice looking foundry.
Over the last 3 days I built the remaining 3 walls on the carrier sheet then cut the walls off then drilled 3 holes for the hardware for a garage door and stenciled the name above the holes.

Well done Curt. The lettering came out really nice.
Jerry
Curt nice job on the walls including the stenciling.
Curt, wood colors and lettering came out very nicely.
Howdy, Curt, nice work on all the wood siding. The stencil sign looks great. Have fun, mike
Nice!
Curt,
Just catching up with the thread, the walls look great.
Nice colouring on the timber, Curt.
The walls look great.
Cheers, Mark.
Curt,
As stated by the others, the walls coloring does look great.
Tell me what you need the "U" channel for? Is it for the sliding doors?
Rich
Curt,
Great start and great looking walls.
Tom
Afternoon All,
Thank you Jerry, Larry, Rick, Mike, Philip, Ron, Mark, Rich, and Tom for following along and your kind comments.
Rich yes, the "U" channel is for a sliding doors.
Since the last update I have been adding doors and windows to the Pattern Shop walls. I had to redo the "U" channel a second time since I was unhappy with the results the first time around.
Note the garage door curves inward at the top.

Nice job on the re-do, Looking real good.
Curt that's looking really good and great coloring on the doors. The curved door is that the way it's supposed to be or is it a faulty print.
Looking great, Curt...how about some scrape marks on the wall where the door bottoms scratch the wall from opening and closing ..just a thought
terry
Beautifully done Curt.
Larry that's the way the door is suppose to be thanks to Brett.
Jerry
Nice work on the walls Curt. And nice job on the sliding doors.
On a side note: While we were on the Railroad Line Forums, I started a scratchbuild of this diorama that is not totally finished yet. And I never got a chance to show anything before the site went down.
Now that you are building this kit, I probably won't show mine. I don't want to take away
any of your fanfare! Your build is looking great.
Rich
Curt, great job as usual on the window's and doors.
Rich, I don't know why you wouldn't want to start a separate thread on your build.
Rich I don't think you would take anything away from Curt's build.
So get off your dead *** and start a thread for God's sake!! :)
Besides yours is scratch built!
Jerry
Rich I have no problem with you doing a build thread at the same time, especially if it's a scratch build.
Thanks Jerry for the info; I was curious about that.
Rich just go for it!
Nice work! 8)
Curt,
The redone rolling door looks great, looks like it was well worth the effort.

Curt,
I truly appreciate the jesture for me to start a thread, but I am currently still working on my 1:1 list of projects for the CEO. When I can free up some time and if I can find my photos, I will most likely take you up on this. Thank you.
I also want to thank Rick, Larry, and Jerry for their comments as well. And Jerry, who has a dead ***? certainly not me! ;D
Rich
Hi Curt.
I'm a little confused by your door with a bend at the top? If it is a sectional door, and you are showing the door partially raised, you will need a gap at the bottom (unless I'm missing something). I opened our garage door to have a look, and I would estimate between 10" - 12" of gap at the bottom to represent the angle you have at the top.
BTW - I think the stonework in this kit is gorgeous!
Cheers, Mark.
