Morning all,

Still jet lag issues, couldn't get to sleep last night.  Got up at usual time so I'll be tired today, but need to reset.  Nothing planned, maybe will get back to painting the figures and finishing details.

I slept in a bit this morning, so for me that's A Good Thing.  Off to see the doctor, to get my quarterly 'healthy living' lecture.

Good Morning;

Little tired today, gout decided to act up late night. Has not done that in a while. I'm seating on the back deck with coffee enjoying a beautiful morning, times like this I remember Life is Good. Yesterday we watched on tv the 11 launch of Space x Starship, incredible. From what I could see the ship flew flawlessly and accomplished all objectives. It is watching history in the making. My bride actually saw it briefly as it was passing south of Florida. She had taken the dogs out and it was a clear night. Looked like a fast moving comet she told me.

After coffee I will get back on some layout work. Enjoy the day folks.

Morning/afternoon crew. Well, Northern Command was all closed up on Monday and the power shut off. The interstate and NY Rt90 West was quite congested, but we made it home safley. Had to start the coal stove to warm up the house a bit. The house furnace will be attended to next this afternoon or tomorrow.

So, one of the first projects on the Model Railroad agenda is to build and install an airfilter system and a ducted fan in the basement to alleviate dust and volatile odors. I did some research this past summer while at camp to see what the woodworker hobbyist did. I'll be posting my build and research info here somewhere on the forum. It might not sound much of a model railroading project but dust is a concern of all model railroaders. You might even get an idea of you can do in your home.

Here's the purchsed equipment from Amazon. I'll post links to the specific parts as I post on the subject.

First is an airduct fan. This will be used to create a negative pressure in the basement and be vented outside. Hopefuly it will alleviate the volitile odor from the urethane finish that'll be used on some of the 1:1 projects on the list of things to make.

The big fan will be used for the airfilter to keep the dust down when using any wood working equipment in the basement.

And the filters that will be used. They are a Merv 14 rating. The highest for dust filtration.

I was waiting for these before starting on the cabinet that will hold the CAT fan and filiters because in my research the guy said he didn't know that when they say 1" thick they are not 1" thick.

So depending on the weather outside this project will be wroked on during rainy days. Perhaps I'll even get some time in doing some modeling.

Have a safe and great day.

Afternoon all,

I was sound asleep this a.m. when it was time for the wife to go to work. Since my car was blocking hers in that ended my slumber. I did my morning walk, putzed around on my tablet for a bit then ran out for some lunch. Now it's time for a movie while puttering around at the workbench.

Have a great one!
