Happy Birthday to John Mancuso (Cuse)!
I'm heading out for breakfast with a friend/former co-worker shortly. After that the day is mine as I took care of the yard work yesterday (violating my never do today what you can put off until tomorrow rule).
I'll have to think about what I want to put on the TV while I'm sitting at the workbench later. Old movie, concert, train video, etc.
Have a great one!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! John aka Cuse!!
Rain is 100% and it's cold in the mid 40s going to upper 40s.
Inside things to do today, no reason to go out too far.
Enjoy the day all.

Good morning everyone.
Mid 40's now and cloudy with a high in the mid 50's later here in the CA. Sierras.
Happy Birthday John.
More hiking today for Star and me.
Have a great day everyone.
A miracle! It's raining again. Twice in 3 days, that feels like a record. It's still relatively warm, 53 heading to 62, with some sun possible this afternoon.
Another free day, I'll work on both the machine shop and the DCC testbed. If I get ambitious, I'll do the 'minimal hook-up' of the DCC-EX to the HO standard gauge track and see if I can actually run the one loco that I tested on DCC last month. (At the NMRA NER convention, a group was setting up their modules and running some stuff. I asked if they could put this loco on the track, dial it in, and see if it works. Debugging works best when you've limited the possible points of failure. ;D )

Morning all,
Happy B-D to John!
It's really cooled down here, only a high of 57 today.
Tomorrow I leave for Las Vegas for my last medical continuing education trip. I need to renew my license one more time until retirement in (hopefully) March.
Need to pack later, when it's light out I'll look to see if I need to mow (doubtful).
I took a lot of pictures of rivers/streams on layouts at the Narrow Gauge Convention as eventually I'll need to add some to the layout.

My computer standards group met quarterly, it was several hundred people and we needed a hotel with lots of breakout rooms. One year we went to the Hyatt (I think) on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. A few gambled, but most of us tossed a quarter or two into a slot machine, just to say we did it. At the next quarterly meeting, the conference coordinator reported on locations. "We're not invited back to Lake Tahoe. When I asked why, they told us, 'Your people don't gamble enough and eat too many desserts from the buffet.' I responded, 'It's a conference of computer nerds, what did you expect?' "

Happy Birthday John.
Thank you guys...I'm celebrating my 58th by going back to Jiu Jitsu next week ;D and, not coincidentally, upgrading my health insurance first of the year.
Nothing new on the layout...but I am thinking about it a LOT.
Afternoon all.....
