Morning all,
Late start today after sleeping nearly to 0800 after a fairly busy day at work yesterday. Gosh, I missed this morning's 0700 team meeting. 8)
Waiting for the fix it place to come pick up the mower and snowblower this morning.
It's a bit chilly today, presently nine degrees, headed to twenty six. A couple of fairly warm days have melted a large amount of our snow cover.
More cleanup downstairs is on tap for today.

Drizzle over snow, 54 right now. Still foggy, but not as bad as it was this morning. I looked at the Machine Shop stuff I did yesterday, to work out next steps:

I need to trim the steam pipe, and add at least one pipe brace.
In retrospect, it was a big mistake to glue the rafters in place. I'm seriously considering cutting out the rafters in the middle (where they won't be visible). I cannot attach the boiler room permanently to the shop foundation. So I have to arrange this so I can glue everything into position (getting the steam pipe to line up) when I'm ready to install this on the layout.

Good morning (barely), Jeff, Dave and later arrivals. SW of Dave, I hear strong winds up high but the branches of my orchard aren't tossing too much. Wife, kid and a friend went out shopping earlier. I'm shutting the computer off for lunch and going up to the relatively comfortable (for December) attic layout.
Dave, maybe a template or two to get the subroof cut for a careful fit for the two smokestacks, then apply it to the rafters, cut the rafters to clear the openings and drop the boiler house down into place?

Yeah, that's kinda what I'm thinking. I drew up roof templates and printed them onto paper. That gives me some sacrificial material to cut-and-fit. The roof material is corrugated iron, glued directly to the rafters. But I can glue those to a thin template to make the roof more-or-less removable for installation.

Afternoon all.....
The temps and the winds were both in the mid-teens in their respective realms today. Some early January well diggers out there today.
