Title: Sunday, December 28, 2025
Post by: Zephyrus52246 on December 28, 2025, 09:21:56 AM
Morning all,

It's been an interesting few days here.  My grandson was sick, so my son's family still hasn't come down to see us.  He's better, but then his sister wasn't feeling well yesterday.  My youngest daughter was stuck in Chicago for over 24 hours as we've been fogged in here.  She managed to arrive late yesterday.  At least my oldest daughter had no travel issues and her son and daughter have been running the trains.

Also yesterday, my wife had ordered a large amount of fried chicken at the grocery store.  However, someone had taken the wrong order and I had to wait a half hour for them to make up a new one.

Today it's foggy and raining, with a high of 47, which we've already reached.  Snow starts later.  Meh.

Good morning, Jeff and later arrivals.  I've put a modest breakfast out: oranges, apples, bananas, cereal assortment and some nice muffins from the bakery in town.  Urn is heating up, Track Hammer blend should start perking in a minute or two.

Last night the NH seacoast got down to 8F, this afternoon is forecast for 35F. My new grandson got home yesterday, nobody in my family except our teenager is traveling anywhere today,  Once I've finished with computers this morning, I'll be trying my hand at carving meat-tray foam a la Ralph DeBlasi.

Interesting series of adventures, Jeff.  They share a common thread in life these days.  The most rapidly departing element seems to be patience and happiness. With a wide ranging lack of competence.

Weather is grey and wet with a WARNING for wind and snow after a brief trek to 50 in the rain today.

Enjoy the day all, be well, stay safe and SMILE!

Ah well, Dr Jeff.  Look at this as making 2026 start on a positive note  ;D

James mentioned our temperatures, it's also very sunny right now, bright blue sky.

I baked a quiche for breakfast (bacon, swiss, shallot crisps).  After breakfast, I'll work on that HOn30 kit.  Yesterday I took it apart and reworked the mistake I made.  So not much time lost in the longer scheme of things.

Morning all,

Kind of a wasted week on this end. Zero workbench time. The flu will do that to you. It's not a worst-case scenario flu, but it's been enough to keep me away from the workbench. Hopefully today or tomorrow I'll be able to muster up enough energy to pull out the workbench and get something done.

Have a great one!

Good afternoon, All!

It's 36 and dripping lightly under the grey blanket here in the northern mitten today.  Winter storm warnings are up for late afternoon, tonight, tomorrow and beyond, with threats of ice, major snow, minor snow, rain, etc.  Only The Shadow knows for sure....

Best wishes to Bob for a quick, complete and permanent recovery.

Cortisone shot in my hip appears to be working, so I may be able to head down to see if the railroad is still there and is interested in playing nicely with me again.

Make it a great day, All, and stay safe!

Pedro says..."Only The Shadow knows for sure...."

If only someone can see a shadow today...one of the ugliest days here in memory.
