Title: It's Monday if you can find it!
Post by: KentuckySouthern on December 29, 2025, 09:49:46 AM
Temp in the mid 20s and wind gusting into the 60s with the reverse yesterday, temp near 600 and rain and wind in the 20s.  This morning it's snowing prolifically :o

No plans to venture out today, for sure.

Hot oatmeal, eggs, grits, biscuits and freshly churned butter.  Ham and sausage in the warmer.

I think bench time is awaiting today.

So, what's in YOUR Wallet? errr...WINDOW this morning? ::)

Morning all,

Brrr.  The "real feel" is 15 below zero here this morning.  Very windy.

My daughter's luggage still hasn't arrived.  It did get to the local airport yesterday, but has not yet been brought here.  We'll go retrieve it today if it doesn't come by noon.  My son's family will get here Wednesday, but the youngest will return to San Francisco tomorrow, so everyone won't be here at the same time, unfortunately.

Only one minor derailment so far running the trains, and a couple of coupler issues.

Good Morning, All!

"Good" in the sense that I did wake up and don't hurt anywhere new....  As to the window, it's hard to say....  Whiteout conditions make it hard to see the driveway, the reports from outside have the wind chill at -7, and the way stuff is blowing around, I think that anything that gets picked up here in the northern mitten will come down in Toronto or Massachusetts Bay....  Bleah!

Since Karl didn't seem to include it, I'll note that the silver bullet is now flashing READY with Caboose Blend coffee ready to go.

Make it a great day, All, watch out for blowing buildings, and stay safe!

edit> Lots of local reports from 911 of trees down in the roads.  Be careful!

It's good to see Pete uyp reaching for coffee...   By the time this storm is over, we'll have about 1" of rain/sleet/ice/wintery mix, which would have been 10" of snow if it had been 10 degrees colder.  I'd rather have snow!

Tomorrow it turns quite cold, and the water sitting on the driveway today will be ice tomorrow.  I -should- put on weather gear, grab a ladder, and push snow off the porch roof, to fix a leak where water on top of ice is getting into the room.  And I should go to the store today, so I don't have to go out tomorrow.  But it's so dark and damp I'm having a problem getting motivated.  At least the dogs won't want to go for a walk in this weather.

Dr Jeff, call the airline before you go to the airport, to make sure the luggage hasn't been handed over to a delivery service.  Often they'll hand bags to a service, and that guy spends all day driving around to drop off all the bags in his vehicle.

After 8 months, I declared work finished on the Machine Shop project.  Still some details to add...
